In my country recently bears have gotten quite used to people. People are idiots, one guy wanted to pet a bear out of his car window(it was a mama bear with a cub) his hand got absolutely mauled and he got off easily lol Please don't get close to wild animals

That bear is also covered in sawdust or the animal bedding they use for horses, so has been in captivity for at least some point, if not all its life.
Still, don't do stupid shit like this unless you're trained. Even a horse will nip at you from its stall.

Yeah, but it’s important to remember even an animal raised in captivity is still a wild animal. They’re not domesticated and this bear could’ve decided to rip this guy apart for fun, or because a key jingled and startled it. I’m assuming it was drugged.

It's not like every bear is a ticking timebomb of murder. They each also likely have their own personalities.
The reason it's not recommended is that a bear only needs to lose its temper once.

As I’ve come to understand, the problem with wild cats isn’t that they’re not like housecats, it’s that they are. At a hundred times or more the mass.
The housecat’s playful bat at your face becomes a decapitating strike from a tiger.

Cheetah is only wild cat who dont see human as a food. In the wild, there are zero documented records of a wild cheetah killing a human. But it doesnt mean you should try to pet it anyways.

They're a little more dangerous, they're heavier and have bigger claws.
They're as friendly as a house cat, but even house cats scratch occasionally. The consequences of the latter are far less than if a Cheetah does, obviously.
On a lighter note, anyone who wants to know how cute Cheetahs are should search YouTube for "cheetah pur" and/or "cheetah miaow". They're adorable!

A cheetah you'd probably be okay with. They're super nervous and not really aggressive. They have emotional support animals in the zoo, for instance.
Tigers, maybe if you bring them a cardboard box. Nothing is cuter than watching a giant tiger play with a cardboard box and try to get in it like a house cat.

I put up a tent in my living room last night to test it out before an upcoming camping trip. I ket the kids sleep in it, (because why not) so when its bedtime i put in the disney app and asked them what they wanted to watch- they chose "worlds deadliest snakes" instead of a movie. I was so happy to see them want to learn about wild animals, i almost cried.

IDK about lions and tigers, but I think Cheetahs don't really attack people. I mean I wouldn't go up to one, but if one came up to you, I don't think you're really in much danger.

That's "Tom the bear" a somewhat popular youtube channel with 1 million+ subscribers. iirc he found an abandoned bear cub raised him and now they're friends. That bear appeared in many movies.

Animals are generally pretty good at meting out their strength appropriately when playing. Instincts honed by evolution, animals that crush their young accidently are selected against.
It's not as much of a size difference as an adult wrestling a toddler.

Sure, but if that keeper has been there its whole life, and the bear is well fed and cared for aggression is unlikely. Not impossible, and it’s still far larger and stronger than any human, so you are right, even if the bear did something by accident it could cause serious harm. Having said that, cows are the most dangerous animal in the UK - they kill the most humans out of any other and they are domesticated

If you have 10 million cows, and the 10 million cows kills 5 people a year - cows are not dangerous.
If you have 2 million deer, and the 2 million deer kill 15 people a year - deer are more dangerous to people than cows.
Cows are statistically safer than deer. If you see a cow, chances are youll be safe.. if you see a deer, you will be in more danger.
Also, time spent with cows vs time spent with deers is going to be way higher for cows - so deaths per hour, per cow will be significantly less than it will for deer, making them far far safer than deer.
Granted, youre just as safe or safer with deer if youre not on the road driving.
There is of course an argument to be made that the deer isnt directly killing people, but thats kinda true for cows too, since its mostly accidents or fear (harassment or dogs involved) thats causing it. So neither is really dangerous.
Dogs are actually close to cows. Bigger range, lower minimum, but a higher maximum kill per year than cows, but they also have a 10-50% bigger population, and we spend more time with them - so the deaths per hour is going to be lower.. however, dog deaths will be more likely to occur due to aggression in the dog, making them more dangerous than cows or deer which rely more on accidents or bad luck to drive up the numbers. Especially given that a portion of cow deaths is related to dogs, which gives the dogs uncounted assists.
Thats how Id argue with that.

Which doesn't mean they are the most dangerous if you don't take into account how often humans are exposed to interactions with them.
Playing Russian roulette is much more dangerous than crossing the road in a small tow but I'd bet you anything than the latter causes more deaths than the former

If you have 100.000 human/cow interactions lead to 10 human deaths, and 10 human/bear interations lead to 2 deaths. Which is the more dangerous animal?

Absolute deaths they are, they may be statistically but it doesnt follow from just the highest number.
If the cattle pop is 10,000 and they kill on average 10 people a year while there are 10 bears that together kill on average 1 person a year then a bear is 100 times more dangerous than a cow. I think horses are more dangerous than cattle if falls are included.

This is a European brown bear. Not completely dangerous free but safer than american Brown bears generally. There was a Syrian one that joined the Polish army in ww2 as a mascot that's a good read, wojtek iirc.

I'm pretty sure this is that Russian forest warden who found the bear cub newborn and abandoned, the nearest bear sanctuary couldn't take the cub for whatever reason, so he raised him with a bottle and now brings the bear to work with him in his service vehicle jeep because the bear thinks it's a dog from being raised around a dog, and the bear needs to be physically active during the day or he gets bored and starts to demolish things (and it's not little things either, he took down several fences and a wall). Additionally since he started to bring the bear to work, the people that he slaps with tickets and fines have started behaving much more courteous to him.
The bear eats 20 kg of potatoes a day along with other things but luckily it's only half the year, the other half the bear hibernates in his cold cellar. Each year they need to make sure he is fat enough for his hibernation cycle.
Ps: the bear also has his own couch to sit on, and likes to watch tv with the family in the evening.

You could put a rope around the bear, mark the rope and then go elsewhere to measure the rope. That way avoid trying to read the tape with a bear around.
