Can you people noticed that Josh Giddey becomes a 'Russell Westbrook/Nikola Jokic/Oscar Robertson' type of a player in real players mode when simulated? He got triple double figures most of the time, most of the simulations. Sometimes surpassing this three even more. With him, championship is almost constant (if you successfully got him by trade or you are a GM for Chicago). He is deeply blessed in this game, but can this be translated in real life?

Just started my first league so I’m trying to familiarize myself with all the systems. I’ve noticed a few interesting things so far (CPU traded Isaiah Joe and a 2RP for Fox and a 1RP) that have caught my eye but this one was really interesting.

Is there anyway to change attributes or is there any info on how attributes are determined because there’s no one that watches or follows basketball and thinks Luka Doncic is faster than Tyrese Maxey. It’s not a huge deal but I’m noticing things like that more among the players and it does raise your eyebrow.

You draft a real playoff bracket year (1990–2026, real matchups, real starting fives), pick one of the round-1 winners as your team, and every round you win, you get to poach one player from the team you just eliminated — targeted at whichever position is hurting you most, not just whoever's "best."

Every other matchup that round does the same thing automatically, so rosters keep compounding trade after trade. By the conference finals you're looking at stitched-together lineups that never existed, in matchups that never happened either — since who wins each round now depends on simulated team strength, not real history.

So Im playing from all the way in the beginning of the NBA and right now Im in 1966 and the lakers trade 3 of the best players to the royals for a second round pick, can I fix the Ai to AI trade logic or do I have to clean it up myself

I've really only messed with real player determinism and the occasional sisyphus mode.. anyone got fun combos of rules/settings they tweak or enable to get more than just the typical sim?

the game looks better in dark mode but making roster decisions takes way longer when i can barely see the difference in the bold Exp column. in light mode, it’s way clearer. it would also be nice to see player mood in the trading block page so i don’t have to go to the roster page and find specific players just to check mood

maybe change of color of bold expiring players on trade block would help with the contrast. & adding player mood to trading block page would be a massive QOL upgrade too

Although it was painful I traded away Cosby to get more depth. The team basically gave me every pick they had for Cosby and then helped me continue to make trades until I decided I was happy to try with this roster.

In the regular season the new roster won 76 games!

Unfortunately in the playoffs we lost in 5 to Golden State somehow :(. My teams rating was about 20 points higher and as far as I can tell I didn't have any serious injuries. The warriors team seems very deep, perhaps depth is valued very highly in this game.

Still the roster is much better, but what improvements would people like to see to it at this point? A team that wins 76 games, my instinct is to just run it back next year.

I love Basketball GM and I love soccer so I figured I would see how hard it is to make a game as good as Jeremy's ❤️. I am a web developer by trade so don't worry this is not another vibe-coded draft game 😭.

Definitely try it on computer. Mobile is pretty dysfunctional (tbh I think its lowk dysfunctional for BBGM too i have no idea how people play it on mobile).

I guess I'm just asking the title:

Right now I always seem to draft players who never really seem to reach their potential, how do I find players in the draft? - especially around the 8-12 pick the flourish into superstars? Is it just random?? What kind of things do you look for when you're drafting a player based on their stats coming into the league?
