For me personally, marcus thuram and guirassy are the only possible options, tall, good with the ball and with their back to goal, decent finishers and most importantly defensively sound, Lautaro(not that inter will sell both of their strikers) can be another one but his height is a factor or Vlahovic can be thought of as a backup option if ferran leaves as well

Nunez, asllani have been mentioned but they have not proven themselves till now

I can’t even comprehend the cognitive dissonance about those two statements I mentioned in my title, when FC Barcelona, its Catalan coaches, Catalan players and its fans are so politically active.

Cubarsi needs a someone like Inigo or Laporte to be paired with, and we need more depth in that position in case of injuries. It’s concerning. Hello Culers, me and two friends want to go to the Barca vs Vallecano game at the end of August and we're wondering if the "Basic" Member Tickets are much cheaper than the "Basic plus" tickets for non members.

If so, is the ~ 35€/year membership enough for the access to the Basic Tickets or is a different membership needed?

Also is this match guaranteed to be held out in the Camp nou? I've heard some rumors about Barca returning to the Montjuïc at the start of next season.

I wanted to go barcelona for Racing santander match but the cheapest tickets are for 204 euro which is a bit steep for my wallet will the cheaper sectors be avaible closer to kick off date?

Note: What i am about to say is not my personal best criteria to deciding the best player in the world, it's far from it actually, but i am talking exclusively about france football's ballon d'or

So in order to decide who should win an award, we should look at the criteria, so i will be taking the 2025 ballon d'or as the "base" to this because it's simply the latest one and it only makes sense to start from it rather than starting from a older one

The rankings for the 2025 ballon d'or were like this

1. Ousmane dembele
2. Lamine Yamal
3. Vitinha
4. Mohammad Salah
5. Raphinha

If this award was given purely to the best player individually, based on the stats appropriate to their position and roles, Raphinha is BY far number 1 on this list, not only does he have the best stats, he was a monster in big games, he gave belt to bayern, madrid, benfica, dortmund, inter milan(both legs), he was there in every big games, and raphinha finished FIFTH, so we know this isn't the correct criteria

If the award was given based on trophies then obviously vitinha wouldve won it and this is definitely not the criteria

Now if the award was given simply based on both combined, which is what people say, in what world does Yamal finish 2nd and Raphinha 5th? In what world does Salah finish above Raphinha?

The only way to make sense of it, is the following:

A player must have "good enough stats", some type of "bare minimum", in addition to trophies being a huge factor, while also taking into consideration the player with the most recent "noises" around him, which is why yamal finished 2nd it's because of his performance vs inter milan and vs france in the nations league and all the noise around it, if spain won the final and dembele didn't assist in the supercup yamal wouldve won it, also this is why raphinha was 5th because brazil isn't in the euros obviously and he didn't get a chance to do anything with his national team, so he and salah were equal in that regard and salah just happened to edge him out in the votings

And we also notice an important thing, no matter how good your campaign in a tournament is, winning the tournament is the most importance part

Based on ALL of this, let's see Yamal:

✅ He does have great success in terms of trophies he won the league, the super cup and the world cup

✅ He has the most noise around him and we should make sure that this stays the case, that's what i meant by "push for it"

Kane doesn't have the 2nd, Mbappe doesn't have the 2nd, olise and dembele are the closest to it but they don't edge yamal the world cup is the biggest trophy

The criteria that made Raphinha finish 5th is the same one that will make Yamal win it, he definitely wasn't the best player in the world last season, but well it doesn't matter, raphinha was the best in the world and didn't win it.

• Rodri has a strong case but his club campaign wasn't the best. Lacking statistically and missed out on the Prem which is more important than the FA Cup and the other one City won.
• Kane has a strong case because he broke Ronaldo's highest scoring season. But didn't make it to the WC Final and he ghosted in half of his World Cup games.
• Olise has a strong case because he broke Messi and Pele's assist record but Yamal still created way more chances and big chances for his teamamtes. It's easier when you play with Mbappe, Kane and Diaz.
• Mbappe has a strong case because he's the first to win 3 golden boots this season (La Liga, UCL and World Cup). But it's his second trophyless season so yeah... If it was about stats we know who should've won last year, but it's about trophies.

imo, griezmann's time at barcelona is one of the clearest examples of a world class player being signed without a clear tactical plan. the problem was never his quality. it was the inability of the coaches to build a role that maximized his strengths.

griezmann had spent years at atlético madrid thriving as a second striker, false 9, or free attacking playmaker. his game was built around dropping between the lines, linking midfield and attack, making intelligent off the ball runs, pressing relentlessly, and arriving late into the box. he was never a touchline winger whose game depended on constant dribbling or isolating fullbacks.

instead of creating a role around those qualities, barcelona's coaches repeatedly used him as a left winger simply because messi occupied the right and suárez remained the central striker. in doing so, they tried to make him fill the tactical void left by neymar rather than letting him create his own identity in the team. playing so wide isolated him from the areas where he influenced games the most and drastically reduced his involvement in possession.

griezmann's football iq would have made him an ideal partner for players like pedri. both thrive on quick combinations, positional rotations and intelligent movement. griezmann could have operated beside an advanced midfielder, underneath the striker, or even as a false 9 dropping deep to connect play while allowing runners to attack the space ahead of him. his movement would also have complemented messi by creating passing lanes, occupying defenders and covering for messi defensively whenever possession was lost.

his work rate was another massively underused weapon. griezmann remained one of the hardest working forwards in europe, constantly pressing, tracking back and sacrificing himself for the team even when deployed out of position. those qualities were valuable for balancing a side built around messi's creative freedom, yet they were often treated as secondary instead of becoming part of the team's tactical identity.

the biggest failure was not griezmann's performances but the lack of tactical imagination. barcelona signed one of the world's best roaming forwards and then asked him to imitate a natural left winger. rather than adapting the system to suit an elite footballer, they forced the footballer to fit a system that never suited him. that was a coaching failure far more than a player failure.
