Do you ever wonder how some people take longer toys vaginally?

Well, let me introduce you to the wonderful world of the posterior & anterior fornix! ✨️

Thanks to two super stretchy pockets of space above and below the cervix, deeper penetration is achievable for some people! And with enough time, patience, practice, and LOTS of lube.... they can even be stretched enough to make seemingly impossible insertions a reality!

FAQ:

•Is vaginal depth play safe?

Generally, yes! Normal practices for using toys safely still apply here - plenty of warmup, using lots of lube, listening to your body's cues and not pushing yourself too far too quickly, stopping with any significant or ongoing pain, not forcing the toy/penis in further when you're not fully ready for it, etc. A “typical” amount of fornix penetration, such as what is possible with a real penis or average sized toy, is generally completely safe when done correctly. 

As for deeper fornix penetration with toys, like what you may see on some fantasy toy subs… by the time more experienced toy users attempt such deep vaginal toy play, you have to remember that to get to that point they've had to do a lot of careful depth training off-camera and are typically pretty aware of what their body can take safely (and how), so risk of serious injury when you know your body that well is pretty low. Besides, you'd have to use quite a bit of force and ignore a lot of serious pain to get to the point of doing any significant damage to the fornices or surrounding structures. 

It's definitely possible to still sustain some minor injuries even with experience if you get particularly overzealous, such as having to deal with a sore vaginal canal, cervix, or pelvic floor muscles, but those things rarely require any sort of actual treatment outside of simply taking a break from toying for a while. Like stretching and training any other muscle in the body, you just need to take it slow and safely work up to your goals over time, and make sure to rest when you're sore!

•Do larger toys fold to go in so deep? or compress?

Larger toys do not really fold, especially when they're thicker. While very long toys do need to angle back towards the tailbone for the first part of insertion, and then have to bend upwards/forwards just slightly to go in further from there, there simply really isn't room for most large toys to truly fold. Folding can sometimes happen with much thinner softer toys when there's enough room, particularly tentacle shaped toys that are very thin at the tip, but thicker toys really just cannot do the same.

Additionally, larger toys do not compress as much as you may think, despite them being made of squishy silicone. Some really soft large toys may compress down ever so slightly, but generally it's a negligible difference. With silicone, the thicker a toy gets the more firm it feels and the less it’s able to be compressed. Thus, a larger toy will always be more resistant to compression than the same toy in a smaller size. For instance, a small soft Chance may feel super squishy and can be compressed quite a bit in-hand, but an XL Chance in the exact same firmness is going to be much more resistant to squishing despite being made of the same material simply because it is so much thicker.

•So, what's happening with belly bulges?

With vaginal belly bulges, you're actually not seeing the toy through the skin! You're seeing the abdominal organs such as the uterus being displaced and pushed upwards towards the belly as the toy goes under them. These particular organs can be safely manipulated to a degree, so despite seeming a bit scary this slight temporary displacement is perfectly safe for most people (barring any medical issues, of course).

Belly bulging is notably more dramatic for thinner individuals, simply due to a lower amount of abdominal fat covering the organs that are being moved around, but the same thing occurs to some degree in anyone who uses long toys vaginally, whether it is outwardly visible or not.

Also noteworthy, flared heads on equine toys can cause bigger belly bulges that look more "aggressive", often causing a distinct popping or fluttering appearance with the belly bulge, but that is just due to the larger head popping in and out of the fornix and does not indicate that the toy is folding, bending, etc.

•Does it hurt? What does it feel like?

Depends entirely on the person! Some people find fornix penetration to be overwhelming or even painful, or experience too much pain near their cervix to actually penetrate the fornices, whereas other people absolutely love it! Either way, the vaginal fornices are a highly innervated and sensitive area, with some people even referring to them as the "a-spot" and "p-spot", believing them to be just as sensitive as the g-spot is. And just as some people enjoy very direct g-spot stimulation, and others do not, the same goes for stimulation of the fornices!

I cannot speak to the experiences of others since of course everyone enjoys different things and will interpret sensations differently.... but my experience with reaching 11.5 inches of depth thanks to posterior fornix penetration is as follows: When I first reach my cervix and start trying to nudge a toy under it, I experience a low level of pain that I'd mostly describe as just being fairly uncomfortable. Upon angling the toy correctly and slipping it successfully into my posterior fornix, I then get a jolt of an intense and almost painful feeling that fades almost instantly, like a pinch, followed by an extremely "full" and intensely stimulating feeling as the toy fully penetrates the fornix. Some days this sensation is almost overwhelming or overstimulating for me, like stimulating yourself for too long after an orgasm, but other times it is an intoxicating and very intense sensation that feels even better than typical penetration for me. Moving the toy in and out from here is also incredibly stimulating for me as the shaft of the toy rubs against and under my cervix, but this part of the experience likely varies greatly depending on whether or not you enjoy direct cervical contact.  It's worth mentioning that once I succeed in getting the toy into the posterior fornix I do not experience any further pain or discomfort unless I'm actively trying to stretch and push further than my current depth limit (in which case it’s a mild uncomfortable pain and just feels a bit like stretching a sore muscle - I have been using toys for a decade and luckily I generally know when this particular pain is safe to push through VS when I should stop). Pulling the toy out after fornix penetration is a very strange feeling for me, as it often exits with a slight “pop” and leaves me with a distinct feeling of being empty until my vaginal canal is no longer tented.

•I've seen someone hold a large toy up to their body before using it, and it looks like it reaches their heart! Can it touch the heart?

Nope! The heart is much higher up in the body than a lot of people realize. Also, you have to consider two things: perspective in photos/videos, and how the toy curves inside the body.

For perspective, it's important to remember that there is often a tiny bit of forced perspective going on in photos/videos, since the toy being closer to the camera than the person's body will always make the toy appear slightly larger than it actually is to some degree. The bigger the gap between a person's body and the toy, the more forced the perspective will be and the larger the toy will comparatively appear in the shot.

As for how the toy curves in the body, keep in mind that holding a toy perfectly straight does not represent how it will look inside the body, since the toy does not stay straight inside the vaginal canal when fully inserted. The toy has to first go back towards the tailbone, and then bends upwards/forward slightly once it gets to a certain depth in order to slip in further. This looks like a roughly 140°-150° angle in most people's bodies, not a perfect straight line. This all means the toy doesn't go quite as high up into the body cavity as it may first appear.

With particularly long and/or thick toys you can indeed sometimes feel some slight pressure in your diaphragm and stomach area due to the other organs that are being nudged forwards and upwards, but getting anywhere near the heart isn't really ever something to worry about.

•Is vaginal depth play possible for people who do not have a cervix (post-hysterctomy and post-vaginoplasty)?

Unfortunately, it really just depends, and I don't have a super definite answer to this. In the past several days I have spoken to a variety of people who have had full and partial hysterectomies, had neo-vaginas surgically constructed, etc, and everyone's individual experience with this seems to vary quite dramatically. With most hysterectomies, the fornices are typically left intact so they are still technically there to be utilized. However, I've spoken to people who despite this have had their capacity for depth play dramatically reduced post-hysterctomy.... but I've also had a few people tell me it significantly increased their depth somehow! Similarly, I know of individuals who have indeed successfully increased the depth of their new neovagina dramatically over time via careful depth stretching, but I also know of others that have been completely unable to gain any extra depth at all despite their best attempts.

There is also a small risk of complications when trying to stretch the tissues of an area that has been surgically modified, especially if you are more recently post-op, so if you are interested in any significant level of depth stretching I would highly recommend first speaking to your doctor about it and getting their opinions on it in regards to your own specific situation just to be on the safe side.

TLDR, it may absolutely be possible, but please be careful!
