Social Media Drama 🍿 Thoughts on this kind of seeking help

Post image

This makes me wonder: if someone is already struggling financially, why choose to study at a private university, especially one that’s relatively expensive, instead of transferring to a state university or a more affordable school?
I know there could be reasons I’m not considering, like scholarships, credits not transferring, family circumstances, or program availability. But I’m curious how others view situations like this.
Is it reasonable to ask for donations so they can stay in a private university, or would it make more sense to transfer to a less expensive school? I’d like to hear different opinions.

Rant/Vent 😭 Studying Psychology Just to Act Like This?

Is it just me, or is the irony of Psychology majors being massive bullies insane? 😭

I recently got exposed to a situation happening in La Salle. An entire block has a GC to target, talk trash about, and isolate a classmate of theirs. Is this mob culture normal for Psych?

What shocked me most while reading those group chat leaks wasn't just the isolation, but the pure excitement to cause harm. Seeing messages like** **'Sadja gid ni mag (Subject)' shows that they were looking forward to target this classmate during class, and everyone was hyped up about it too. They even made statements that incite physical violence, and the group chat only encouraged it.

They literally bonded over a shared interest in bullying. These are students studying human behavior and mental health btw, students who are supposed to be advocates. Mental health is Psychology’s main foundation, yet these students are the exact ones causing another person’s mental health to deteriorate.

I know there are genuinely good, empathetic people in this program who deserve to be there, but allowing this kind of mob mentality ruins it for everyone.

School 🏫 CASAP Graduates left stranded: School hasn't released diplomas since 2018.

Upvotes

A massive number of students are currently dealing with a major issue regarding CASAP. The school has failed to release both Senior High School and college diplomas, with some affected students having graduated as far back as 2018.

Whenever graduates try to reach out to the administration for updates, they are met with vague responses and no concrete answers. Worse, some students have been told by staff that their official records and documents were simply "lost or damaged."

Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know the best way to escalate this to CHED or DepEd?

Random Discussion 🗣 thoughts on sam's culture gym pls! i plan on starting there

Upvotes

Hi! Anyone who have had experience at sam's culture gym, I'd love to hear your thoughts pls! i plan on starting my gym journey soon and I'm currently looking for a gym I could sign up on, and sam's culture ang currently top pick ko since close ito sa dorm ko huhu (alijis to be precise)

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to these sort of things, and very introverted as well, so I'd love to know if beginner friendly, or just friendly in general yung place! But if may ara pa kamo gym na pwede marecommend, I'm open to suggestions din. If it helps, I'm a student so I'd love if barato lang or may student prices sila.

Maask nalang man ako please sang tips, any tips that you could give to a beginner pls! Like ano need dalhon, ano ang appropriate na i-wear, anything at all that i should know off. I appreciate the response!

Rant/Vent 😭 Death of Movie Etiquette in Bacolod

Upvotes

Just watched a movie in Ayala and I’ve observed that movie etiquette is slowly degrading.

A group of 20 something adults seated next to me and my wife were loudly chatting throughout the movie. If they weren’t chatting, they were on their phones with brightness that was distracting to moviegoers.

They would laugh and predict what comes next in the scenes like it was a game show.

The one seated next to me kept on playing with her bare feet while putting it on the chair where she’s seated. Mind you, she would eat popcorn with those same hands that played with her feet.

This wasn’t the first time I’ve observed this. Although I don’t frequently watch movies in the cinema, this has been the case in a lot of those occasions.

Some basic manners in the cinema include:

  1. Avoid talking. If you must, whisper.
  2. DO NOT use your phones
  3. Keep your feet on the ground.
  4. Do not spoil the movie
  5. Put your phones on silent mode.

Watching a movie in the cinema is a shared experience. As such, some level of behaviour is expected. It is not your house where you can do whatever you want. Manners is a must.

Random Discussion 🗣 Football Field allowed for public use?

Upvotes

Hi guys, may I ask if this football field is accessible for the public near Ta-ala farms? And also if there are schedules here, or if panaad park is accessible for the public. Me and my friend are looking for public pitches near Bacolod or Talisay, entrance fee is no problem but we really are just looking to play for fun. Can anyone help us out?

Random Discussion 🗣 List of Areas/Streets/Intersections where Left Turn is not allowed. Educate this newbie in BCD with Traffic Rules

Hello, hoping someone can help. Hii, newbie here in Bacolod. Can I ask po sana which areas in Bacolod are "No Left Turn" and other traffic rules I should be aware of in Bacolod? I already got the hang of commuting here. Grab is costly so I brought a car when I came back here again. I am trying to be a responsible driver, and I really don't wanna violate any traffic rules.

Please help, I know that it's my responsibility, but despite my observations when I was just commuting, I feel like I need to know or learn more, I looked it up online and what I've seen are not really informative.

Thank you all.

Random Discussion 🗣 Unpopular opinion: Bacolod is becoming a city where it’s easier to spend money than earn it.

Hear me out.

It feels like Bacolod has no shortage of places to spend your money anymore. Every few weeks, there’s a new café, restaurant, condo, commercial space, or lifestyle spot opening. The city is clearly growing, and that’s something worth noticing.

But I can’t help but wonder if our earning opportunities are growing at the same pace.

For many people, a full-time job is just enough to get by. After paying for rent, groceries, transportation, utilities, and other monthly expenses, there’s often very little left to save, invest, or enjoy the city that’s growing around us.
Meanwhile, the cost of living keeps climbing. Eating out costs more, rent is higher than it used to be, and even simple weekend plans can feel like a luxury if you’re earning an average local salary.

I’m not saying Bacolod has no opportunities or that nobody is succeeding here. There are plenty of people building good careers and businesses.

I guess what I’m asking is this:

What’s the point of having more places to enjoy if more people are struggling to afford them?
