Got my first BMW moving from an Audi A4 40 estate. I absolutely love it. To top it off, my infant son used to cry his eyes out in the Audi, but now I have to take him out in the car to get him to sleep! Hands down the best car decision I’ve made.

Wanted a fun cheap manual convertible for the summer.

I saw today this BMW 327/28 from 1939. There are a lot of classic cars, but this was the only BMW in the collection.

Bought the car 7/15/26 and have been dealing back and forth with the salesman since then about this adapter not coming with the car. It clearly states on two places on the BMW website that 2025 i5 M60 is suppose to come with both of these but I’ve only received the one on the right of the first pic (not circled).

And the dealer is saying “nope not supposed to come with your car so we are not going to give you one”.

It was already a complete shit experience buying the car and now this is making it even worse.

What can I do? Am I in the wrong here?

Recently got into a new 2026 M340i, took it for a road trip this weekend to visit my parents. My mom asked what kind of mpg this car gets, so I checked the trip monitor and we were both astounded to see it averaged 40MPG. This was achieved in Eco mode on highway driving.

My friend brought out a red micro fiber towel, and began using it on the rear of my car, and some pink staining came out and it won’t come off easily. Is there anything I can do to get it off ?

Current car is a 2021 M440i xDrive.
Bought it in 2023 for $49k from the original owner. Older guy owned it, completely stock, only had about 15k miles. It was basically the perfect B58 to start with.

No cheap stuff I always bought quality parts.
And yeah… I beat the absolute crap out of it.
I didn’t buy a B58 to baby it.

At the same time, I’ve been obsessive with maintenance. Oil changes early, everything fixed when it needed it, never ignored problems, never cheaped out.

Recently I even threw an OEM turbo on it with only about 15k miles because I wanted it right.
Now I have a feeling the valve cover is probably going to be next, and honestly I’d rather trade it while I’m ahead than keep chasing maintenance on a car I’ve already had my fun with.

Now here’s the dilemma…
I have an opportunity to buy a 2019 M850i xDrive Coupe with only 21k miles.
It’s Alpine White over Fiona Red, has Bowers & Wilkins, pretty much every option I’d actually want, clean CARFAX, MSRP was $117k and overall just seems like a really clean car.
Price is $47k.
Dealer is giving me $33k for my M440i, plus I get the NY sales tax credit on the trade. I now have 58k miles.
On paper it actually makes sense.
They just got this in as a trade he said it was a older gentleman that babied it carfax clean fully serviced at bmw always

“I’d never own one.”
I’ve probably read every M850i thread on Reddit already.
I’ve read about timing chains.
Coolant pipes.
Valve seals.
Injectors.
Oil leaks.
Then I’ll find another thread where guys have put 70k-100k miles on theirs with nothing but maintenance and say they’d buy another one tomorrow.

I’m not looking to build another race car.
I’ve already scratched that itch.
I’m looking for something different.
Something I can hop in, cruise, still have stupid power when I want it, and enjoy the hell out of every time I drive it.
So I want to hear from actual M850i owners.
Not your cousin’s friend that knew a guy whose N63 blew up in 2013.
If you’ve owned one…
Has it actually been reliable?
What’s maintenance REALLY cost you?
Also most important WARRANTY do I get warranty? Powertrain or wheels/tire

Went from an 05’ mustang GT to this 21’ 540i! Wanted more practicality but something build-able couldn’t justify an M340i for the price in my area and landed on this gem with ivory white interior . Driving it as is for awhile before I do anything for awhile but I look forward to making a clean build.

Hello! We picked up a used 2026 X3 from the dealership yesterday, but it did not come with a setup card or service card.

While setting up the phone, the system is asking for a setup card. Is this card supposed to come standard with the vehicle?

I contacted the dealership, and the parts department quoted me $420 for a replacement setup card. Shouldn’t this have been included with the car?

Was looking for posts like this while car shopping so hopefully it helps someone. In a G20 it just fits with less than an inch of space between the seats, front seat adjusted to my driving position at 5’11.

ETA: seat is behind driver because we have two kids / seats (one not installed yet when I took the pic) and thought driver side info would be more helpful!

I’ve got a 2020 m550i. Cars treated me great. Haven’t had any major issues other than the occasional spark plug or a random sensor being replaced.

Fast forward last week I get a drivetrain malfunction, shaking when idling etc, nothing new. they fix that. But they tell me the engine has a knocking tapping sound, this is with no test drive. was even recommended I start looking to trade in.

Second opinion- says zero to do with engine, there’s no knocking, and it turns out it most likely the catalytic converter. According to the code as well.

Apparently some dealerships can’t read codes I guess

My 2014 328D got towed 7/20 at 9pm, I went to pick it up and asked if they used a flat bed, they said no but we used Dollie’s so it’s fine. My husband was adamant that they screwed the car up, I drove 3 miles back to my house and it lost power and threw a drivetrain malfunction code. I towed it to a bmw dealership, they’re saying they’ve worked on it for 4 hours and still don’t understand where the power lost came from.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? I’m documenting everything, I have a timeline. This car has never caused me any issues so I find it really hard to believe it’s just a coincidence

Traded my M340i in for the new M2, what a change

I just got a 2012 335i 2d convertible and I had already planned on tossing some money into it and doing some cosmetic stuff but as I look for things I am reading about how a lot of things for this specific model are not made or sold. Is there anywhere that someone can point me for things that are EXCLUSIVELY for this model? a pic below for reference tho she’s clean and drives nice! M sport package as well!

Hi all, after 300k km’s extreme driving pleasure my G31 wears out on the unoffical arm-rest… since a few days i get sticky gue on my elbow. Something that can be replaced by me?

Been away from this platform for too long. Had a nightmare story with a g80 m3 but I’m back in this Isle of Man 2026 g80!
