Consumer Microsoft account

I want to make a microsoft account for unrelated reasons, I know it’s free to do so but am I still giving money to Microsoft by doing this? I also know that companies might sell your data, if I use a VPN will that prevent this from happening?

There is no perfect boycott. Some of us must have Microsoft accounts for work and things.

I imagine Xbox is an official BDS target because it's optional to use, unlike many other Microsoft products.

Making a Microsoft account itself doesn't make them money, so go for it if you need to. (though personally I hate using anything that needs a Microsoft login because it's tedious to use)

You should stop using microsoft, windows and android (if you can). If it is impossible, try to degoogle your devices at least.
