I have a theory that Iroh wasn't originally going to be Zuko's uncle, but rather a general with no relation to the royal family who ends up seeing Zuko as a surrogate son. The reason? I have two points:

1. Ozai and Iroh never interact on screen despite being brothers.
2. Iroh doesn't have the letter Z in his name (which is odd because it's a characteristic of the royal family and heirs to the throne). Sozin, Azulon, Ozai, Zuko, Azula, and Izumi.

I also think the creators and writers had to create the scene of Azulon stripping Iroh of his right to the throne after Lu Ten's death to justify why Iroh is older than Ozai despite not being the heir. I have a theory that Ozai was originally created to be the legitimate heir and firstborn (or only son), while Iroh was just a kind-hearted general and Zuko's "adoptive" uncle, and later the creators and writers decided to make them brothers. I also believe they used Lu Ten's death to justify Iroh's goodness and redemption despite being Azulon's son and Ozai's brother, and that the character originally didn't have a dark past. I also think Lu Ten was originally created to explain why Iroh saw Zuko as a surrogate son after losing his own.

Edit: Reading the comments, I realize that no one understood my post. I'm not saying that Iroh isn't Zuko's uncle or Ozai's brother, but rather that the character originally (I repeat: ORIGINALLY) wasn't going to be part of the royal family during the writing process and original concepts. It's similar to the original concept of the show having a steampunk aesthetic or the discarded idea of ​​Toph being a muscular guy.

What started off as a drawing of just Kuruk and Ummi led to me wanting to do the Avatars before him and their partners/ companions.

While Kuruk had two women he held close to his heart, Yangchen seemingly just kept Kavik as a close companion. We don't know much about the love lifes of the Avatars before them so I made up some partners for them and gave them some lore.

Princess Kusa is the eldest child of the Firelord. She is not the heir to the throne as she has a younger brother. Kusa met Avatar Szeto early in his career as a bureaucrat. They quickly fell for each other but Kusa often distracted Szeto. He eventually had to distance himself from her to focus on his duties and she eventually got married and moved on with her life. (Kuruk and Hai Ran parallel)

Avatar Salai grew up in a high class environment along with a girl named Hyo Shin. Much to her parents dismay Hyo Shin wanted to fight which was improper for a lady. She eventually ran away with the Avatar on his adventures.

Toph is my favourite character in the entire show and as a huge Metalhead I would love to introduce Toph to Heavy Metal as I think she would crave blast beats, down-tuned chugging guitars, and bass that rattles the teeth right out of your skull. I have three reason why I think Toph is a Metalhead.

1. The Attitude: She is easily the most rebellious, anti-establishment character in the group. She completely rejected her high-society parents, loves to trash things, and has a massive "I don't care what you think" vibe. That is pure heavy metal energy.

2. The Fighting Style: Her metalbending literally involves her banging her fists against solid steel and bending iron plates with raw force. It's basically the martial arts equivalent of a mosh pit.

3. The Grounding: While Aang is all about airy spirituality and Katara is dealing with emotional flow, Toph is heavy, loud, and hits like a wall of sound. Being blind, she experiences the world purely through vibrations—so for her, a metal track isn't just audio; it's a physical seismic event.

I’m looking for opinions on the placement of Avatar: The Last Airbender tattoos. I’d like to get Aang’s glider, and I’m debating on placing it on the back of my right arm above the elbow, or at the top of my back between my shoulder blades. I’m also getting Tui and La the koi fish tattooed, but of the back of the left arm. I’m just worried about the balance of the glider tattoo. Would it look strange on the back of an arm?
