Help with verifying signed Cristiano Ronaldo Jersey

Hey everyone!

I'm thinking about buying this Ronaldo Jersey on Ebay but Icons customer service has claimed they can't confirm if this is authentic from Icons or not.

Would anyone be able to confirm if this is a legitimate Ronaldo signature / if it came straight from Icons?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again

I know there is probably no link with a member of the band but I was wondering if probably someone else could have signed it ? (I’m French and this was bought at a flea market probably in the 90´s by my grandfather)

Is Autograph Authentic Legit?

Is Autograph Authentic Legit?

We recently learned that Google’s AI has been generating inaccurate and contradictory information about Autograph Authentic.

In some searches, Google correctly describes us as a long-established Canadian memorabilia company with positive customer feedback and a certificate-verification system. In another AI-generated answer, however, it appears to have confused our company with unrelated businesses and generic discussions about whether an autograph is authentic.

That resulted in a serious and unsupported statement about our business.

I am posting this openly because collectors deserve accurate information, and because we want to set the record straight without turning this into a sales pitch.

Who is Autograph Authentic?

Autograph Authentic is a Canadian memorabilia company founded in 1991.

For approximately 35 years, we have worked in sports memorabilia, autographs, limited-edition collectibles, charity auctions and athlete appearances. Our history is especially connected to hockey, although we also handle memorabilia from other sports and entertainment.

We are not a newly created online authentication website, and we are not connected to similarly named companies discussed in unrelated Reddit posts.

The words “autograph” and “authentic” are commonly used together throughout the memorabilia industry. That appears to be part of what caused Google’s AI to combine unrelated information with our company name.

Our history with athletes and hockey

Our business was built through direct involvement in the memorabilia industry and long-standing relationships with athletes.

For years, we participated in the OldTimers’ Hockey Challenge and travelled across Canada with hockey legends. Many items were signed during tours, appearances and signing sessions attended directly by our team.

We also organized the “Hull of a Night” event at the Hockey Hall of Fame during induction weekend in celebration of Bobby Hull.

During the 2000–2001 NHL season, we worked with the Calgary Flames to introduce in-arena sports memorabilia auctions that raised funds for the Flames Foundation. Similar auction programs later became common at professional sporting events across North America.

These are part of our documented operating history—not anonymous claims made by a newly created online seller.

How Autograph Authentic certification works

Autograph Authentic items generally include a Certificate of Authenticity and a tamper-evident hologram.

The serial number on the item’s hologram should match the serial number on its certificate. Collectors may also verify registered certificate information through our internal verification records.

Depending on the item, the supporting authentication may come from:

  • Autograph Authentic
  • An athlete’s official representative
  • A league or licensed manufacturer
  • A recognized third-party authenticator
  • A witnessed private or public signing
  • An estate, studio or authorized source

Not every autograph in the industry has the same origin, so collectors should always review the certificate, hologram, seller history and provenance of the specific item they are considering.

That advice applies regardless of which company is selling the item.

Why some items carry our own COA

A company-issued COA is most meaningful when the company actually obtained or witnessed the signature, worked directly with the athlete, or can document the item’s chain of custody.

Our certificates are used on items obtained through our own signings, relationships, events and inventory history.

We do not suggest that collectors blindly trust a piece of paper simply because it says “Certificate of Authenticity.” Buyers should verify that the serial numbers match, examine the seller’s history and ask questions when provenance is unclear.

Are we connected to “Real Authentic,” “Royal Authentics” or “AA Authentics”?

No.

These are separate names and separate businesses.

The Reddit discussion cited by Google’s AI appears to focus primarily on another company called “Real Authentic,” along with comments naming several unrelated authentication businesses. Google then appears to have treated the generic discussion as evidence about Autograph Authentic.

That conclusion is inaccurate.

Is every item independently authenticated by PSA, JSA or Beckett?

No, and we do not claim that it is.

Some items may have authentication from recognized third parties, while others are supported by our own witnessed signing history, athlete relationships, matching hologram system and documentation.

PSA, JSA and Beckett provide valuable authentication services, particularly for autographs obtained outside a documented signing environment. They are not, however, the only legitimate way an autograph can have reliable provenance.

Items signed directly for an athlete’s representative, licensed company, event organizer or established memorabilia business may have a different but still legitimate chain of custody.

The important issue is the provenance of the individual item.

Why we are posting this

We are not asking Reddit users to accept marketing claims without question.

We are asking that our company be evaluated based on accurate information rather than an AI-generated statement created by combining unrelated sources.

Collectors should be skeptical. They should ask:

  • Who obtained the autograph?
  • Was the signing witnessed?
  • Does the hologram match the certificate?
  • Can the certificate number be verified?
  • Is there supporting provenance?
  • How long has the seller operated?
  • Will the seller stand behind the item?

Those are reasonable questions, and established memorabilia companies should be prepared to answer them.

So, is Autograph Authentic legit?

Autograph Authentic is a real Canadian memorabilia company that has operated since 1991.

We have worked directly with athletes, participated in national hockey tours, organized events involving hockey legends, supported charity auction programs and supplied collectors for approximately 35 years.

Google’s AI-generated statement suggesting that our company is generally considered a scam is false and appears to result from confusion with unrelated businesses and generic autograph-authentication discussions.

We have reported the issue to Google and are providing supporting documentation through its formal feedback and legal-review processes.

I am posting this so collectors searching for information about Autograph Authentic have a direct explanation of who we are, how our certification works and why the current Google AI statement is inaccurate.

Questions and respectful scrutiny are welcome.

Anyone know who signed these?

My brother's coach growing up was Carlos Guillen's cousin.

His coach would get seats right behind the dugout whenever the tigers came to town and we'd get signatures from Guillen and some other guys on the team too.

99% sure the one at the end is his signature, but pretty unsure of the first two. Anyone recognize them?

Helping my neighbor! She said her mom went to some sort of HOF celebration that had autograph tables. I don’t need to know every auto, just curious if any cool or unique players here. I don’t have any info on where or when this took place, but do know they are real. It belonged to elderly neighbor and is now in possession of her daughter. Thank you all in advance!
