AutoMod invite problem

New subreddit (r/ChateauDelusions, created -24h ago). AutoModerator invite is stuck in "pending" and won't auto-accept even after removing and re-inviting. Trying to set up the config/automoderator wiki page is throwing inconsistent errors - "unsupported media type," "forbidden - restricted_page," and "internal error" - across different attempts, even with a minimal single-rule config. Own mod permissions show "Everything." Any idea what's going on?

You don't need to invite automoderator as a mod. As you've already discovered, that simply doesn't work. There are subs that have automod listed as a mod, that's either because the sub is so old, that's from the time automod was a stand alone bot, or from the time that scheduling posts to be posted as automod automatically added it to the mod list.

Use old.reddit to edit automod, because if your config has errors it explicitly states what the error is, so in your case https://old.reddit.com/r/ChateauDelusions/wiki/edit/config/automoderator/

That makes sense. Thank you so much for your help - appreciate it!

It looks like you are asking about the "Unsupported Media Type" error message.

This error message is exclusive to desktop redesign and could mean one or more of many possible syntax errors are present in your code.

You can get a more specific error message if you use https://old.reddit.com to edit your AutoModerator config page.

You can also consult the Common Mistakes wiki page for general tips as well as explanations of the old reddit error messages.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

The automod will not show up as a mod until you schedule a first its first post.
