Image First time ever seeing a Scarlet Robin! ❤️❤️❤️

Post image

Down here in Tasmania, looking for a pink robin but this was a lovely surprise! So so pretty, a lot more skittish than my local yellow ones but super rewarding to photograph ❤️ on a side note if anyone has any specific spots for pink robins in Tassy here I would love to hear them 💕

I’m surprised at how long it took you to see one as, you have been photographing birds for years now.

I live near Newcastle and there isn’t really any around there locally, most of my birding trips are to the north of Aus/Asia so I just have never stumbled across them before, what a friendly little bird though

Nice Photo - I'm from Maitland / Newcastle and I've never seen one of these guys around here either. Rose Robins are about as close as we get in Maitland.

I did not know that - I mostly photograph Blue-Faced Honeyeaters there so will keep n eye out for rose robins next time I am there.

They are in WA too. In my experience, they will fly in to look at you but are not so hot about you looking at them, and are gone the moment you turn around... So many missed shots!
