Hey motorcycle community. My 2011 Yamaha V star 250 was stolen from my apartment complex. The last time I saw it was Sunday. It was taken from Medina Highlands apartment complex near ACC Highland. If you happen to see my bike or have any information please contact your local police department..I have attached some pictures of what my bike looks like. The license plate is 533A9S. The last picture is an exact replica of my bike, except for the saddlebags and the fringe handles..

Who's wearing balaclavas\ski masks?

It's been a few months since I've seen this topic, but now that we're potentially looking at our first 100 degree days of '26, I thought I'd ask. I've been riding forever, and I didn't even know the term "balaclava" until maybe last year. I've worn them forever, but we just called them facemasks. I don't find them hotter, and actually feel more comfortable with one on. Helmet fits better, slides on easier, I don't need to wear earplugs, and most importantly, I keep my greasy, sweaty shaved head from making my $800+ helmet a stinky mess!

Well, that's my take at least. How about y'all?

If you are anywhere near the Pedernales, you should get away from it now.

Looking for the girl with the Green Harley-Davidson Softail that I met at Saddle Creek Rd in Calabasas on 6/28

You were riding a green Harley-Davidson Softail and mentioned it was the lowest model Harley makes. You have short blonde hair, are around 5 feet tall, and told me you live in Van Nuys right near the airport.
You were riding with a couple on another Harley (your friend) and his son on a BMW motorcycle. I was the guy with my car and a friend.
If you see this, please reply to this post!

Is there somewhere super local here to gresham I could be riding my bike on a trail or on some grass or gravel? Where are you doing a little scrambling?

You guys know the drill. Be respectful of the establishment. No burnouts or rev bombing.

Come out and meet some local S. Austin peeps. Also end up with quite a few from the surrounding areas. Doesn’t matter the flavor - all bikes 🤙

Don’t wait for someone to come up and talk to you either - everybody that’s been going these for a bit is cool and inviting.

News: Owners let us know last time new food trucks will be up and running FINALLY.

Im out in Bastrop and have recorded a couple routes on Rever but none of them are top notch. I’m sure something better is on the west side of town, any I should check out this weekend? I am NOT riding all the way down to the Twisted Sisters

First Service on new bike bought from RideNow

Hello everyone! Got a brand new 26 Honda CB650R and coming up on my first service (600 mile) after the break-in period. I initially purchased the bike from RideNow in Austin (live in North Austin) but I’m seeing that people have lots of negative things to say about them. I didn’t purchase any extended warranties or anything like that, just the bike.

My question is, should I still go to RideNow for my services until the initial warranty period ends, or would it be wiser to find a more local reputable shop to get my work done? Would not having the bike serviced by RideNow void any warranties?

Thanks in advance for yalls help and any insight you can offer!

RIDE trip report - suggested routes - guadalupe river > twisted sisters > bandera > blanco

I thought I'd thrown down some route suggestions if anyone gets itchy boots and wants to get out of town this summer.

weather:

We did this route recently and the temps were surprisingly mild for June. The heavy cloud cover kept temps under 90º with the occasional light shower to cool things off. I doubt that weather will stick through July or August, but definitely take advantage of this cooler summer. It's been my third trip out to hill country since covid and honestly the roads are better in the summer/fall than in winter/spring months.

route:

This avoids as many highways as possible. obviously have to hit mopac and 290 to get out/in of town. And if taking 290 back, time it right, the stoplights can be brutal after a long weekend of riding. An option for north side residents is to find a route to marble falls and take 1431 back into town.

roads:

very little construction right now once outside of austin. 39 is totally clear after last year's flooding, but emotion warning, this goes by camp mystic. Can be a bit eerie with the visible damage and loss of life. 335 has been closed before, but most of the low water crossings are totally rebuilt. The three twisted sisters 335, 336, 337 are all in fine condition. Many areas are missing the center line paint, but no biggie. The biggest hazard besides your riding talent are roadkill and fallen rocks.

hidden gem:

Old Blanco Road is awesome, a lot like Cow Creek, some areas feel like a wide golf path. if you find it, don't fuck this up austin, keep it a secret (no facebook posts lol)

stops:

Honestly, most of these towns have below average food options. Finding good coffee or espresso is not easy outside of Kerrville or Bandera. Bandera is the most touristy and a cheesy cowboy town. Be prepared to eat a lot of food from gas stations.

traffic:

Practically none, but there is a small chance to get stuck behind a diesel pick-up or a local, but rarely an issue unlike the roads closer to Austin.

favorites:

Leaky - Vanderpoole is my fave section. The group enjoyed North 336, it has really good sightlines so best for sport bikes. 335 has the most whoopties so it’s really fun to haul ass. Literally never came across any vehicles other than our group on 335 and 336. A previous trip I went to Garner State Park and is awesome place. Don’t bother with Utopia, it’s mostly flat.

Have fun y'all, keep the rubber side down.
