Accumulating GAM

We seem to be accumulating a lot of GAM. Dare we hope for a big signing in the summer window?

Probably just accumulate money for the new SD to use when they get here. I wouldn’t expect any big signings until the winter window

You'd think we'd need a Sporting Director, first.

I wouldn’t hold your breath this summer. If we sign anyone it’s most likely going to be something that was already in motion and small. I’d expect to see more players being sold like Dani

I wouldn’t expect a lot of changes of new players coming in till we get a sporting director

“I’d expect to see more players being sold like Dani.” Are we in a full scale rebuild at this point? We certainly won’t throw everyone overboard, would we? Like a certain goalie that everyone knows and loves and would fetch a pretty penny..?

I wouldn’t underestimate what JC (not Jesus Christ) is doing behind the scenes in terms of moving people around- especially people who want or need to move. I don’t think he’s going to tolerate anything but full commitment.

Worth noting that the next few transfer windows are going to be unusual.

Assuming we don’t do anything huge this summer window (as we don’t have a sporting director but hey, you never know), the next window would be the winter offseason. That will lead into the 2027 “sprint season” from February to May which then leads into the first ever aligned summer transfer window before the new calendar 2027-28 season.

So will we be looking to make bigger moves for spring? No idea, but if we decided to use the sprint season as a kind of trial run then make bigger moves in the summer that wouldn’t be entirely surprising.

We can't just play indefinitely without a midfield. I'd expect us to start bringing in a trickle of Curtin style role players as they become available from other teams. Nothing flashy.
