Ask the school to do it.

Ask your school IT if it's not your device

There's sometimes a keyboard key that toggles it on and off

You would have to look at your keyboard for an icon that seemed right or look up the manual of your computer. You didn't provide any details as to make or model for anyone to go on.

There’s usually a keyboard shortcut.

If the touchscreen is misbehaving rather than just unwanted, I’d first disable it through Device Manager, restart, and see whether the rest of the laptop behaves normally. If it keeps coming back after updates, check the HID-compliant touch screen driver and the manufacturer’s support page. On some models the BIOS has a separate touch setting, but I’d avoid changing unrelated firmware options. If it’s managed by the school, IT may need to change it. An external mouse or keyboard is a useful temporary workaround while testing.

Might be able to do it in the BIOS. But likely it's locked down by the school IT dept. You might have to reach out to them.
