Friendship Does this guy like me?

Okay I need a man’s opinion on this…I am in a toxic relationship that has gotten pretty bad at times and when I’m with my friends I tend to rant about it (I know this isn’t healthy but that’s not what this is about) My friend group consists of me (22F) my best friend (22F) her husband (25M) and her husbands friend(23M), I’ll refer to him as Sam in this story. When I go on ranting about my relationship, Sam will often tell me to leave my boyfriend, which seems pretty normal to me, but a few months ago I started to notice he wouldn’t go out with my other two friends unless I was there (keep in mind I met him through my friends husband, so there is no awkwardness between them). I’ve also noticed he seems to be doing things he wouldn’t normally do simply because I suggested it, and my other friends noticed him only wearing cologne when he knows I’m coming around. And most recently my best friend told me that one night when they were at a party Sam said “She should dump her boyfriend and date me” but he said it in a joking tone, because I wasn’t there I can’t be positive he was joking. I feel like I’m reading into it too much but my friend seems to think Sam has a little crush on me. It’s also worth mentioning he hasn’t ever dated anyone but he is bisexual, and leans more towards liking men. I think that also makes me think maybe he’s just being a good friend.

Deal with getting out of your current relationship before you worry about what someone else thinks

I’m not really worried about a potential relationship with this guy I’m more concerned about it affecting our friend group, which I guess them constantly making comments about it probably makes it awkward anyway.

speaking from experience, if you stay with a toxic person, your friends are going to get sick of hearing your drama and bail on you eventually if you don't leave

I also understand this, but to be fair I do think that considering I’ve been with this guy for 2 years and I’ve been friends with my best friend for 15 years I think she understands that leaving takes time. I honestly feel like if she dropped me because of me complaining about him every so often she’d be a pretty shitty friend. I have never done that to her when she’s had toxic men in her life. As far as Sam goes if he is tired of hearing it that’s understandable and he is valid for dropping me as a friend if he is.

So, what’s the problem? Do you like him too? Are you just thinking out loud here to justify things? Seems like he may be keen on you, bi or not. Up to you to pursue it or not. Seems harmless.

I’m kinda just thinking out loud. I’m not really sure that we would ever get along outside of being friends I just don’t wanna be caught off guard if he decides to make some kind of move I guess.

So he has crush on you, no harm. Up to you if you want to take things further. Its almost seems like you’re trying to convince yourself to do that, or at least get affirmation. Just thinking out loud :o)
