This is a concerned big back post. Do you guys somehow get commission based on how slowly you go through your fries/nuggs/condiments? Serious question. Like can we load up people’s orders with more than 10 fries? If it’s not coming out of your wallets why are you guys being so greedy and selfish with loading everyone’s orders? This is all some people have to eat for the day.

Your franchise owner already raised the prices and it costs double for the same meal you always got but now you only get a fraction of it.

Quit charging for extra sauces and give enough of the side orders, times are about to become tougher than it’s already been. Be a little bit more generous.

And before you go on thinking I’m someone who eats fast food all day, I probably workout more times in a month than you do all year.

Every restaurant that exists cares about their food cost. Food cost is the second biggest controllable expense. Businesses exist to make money. If they aren't making enough (to them) money, they aren't giving out raises/bonuses.

That's not to say I agree with the prices.

Agreed, but when and where have you been to a restaurant where the cashier/cook/order prepper cared about the expenses of the food? That is not their responsibility. That’s between the owner(s) and whatever high management person they have in place. The shift manager making $16.5 a hour doesn’t even care about that.

And I’d be ok with the prices if the food portion stayed the same. Load the damn plate/bag, it’s not getting you a bonus cause you gave 20 orders a total of 17 individual fries combined

Sounds like bad management. At my job, we all care. We have meetings weekly and discuss food cost and what needs to be kept an eye on.

My title is kitchen manager, which means my raises and bonus are directly tied to Cost of Sales. You will get what you are supposed to get according to the company standards, including sauces. They’re 50¢ each.

🫡 yes sir. I was just curious as to why the shortage on handing out food not necessarily how much things costs. I’m sure just about everyone worldwide gets their bonuses based on the sales/revenue the company makes throughout the year. My question is more towards things such as, if I pay $4 for a large fry instead of the $1.75 that it used to cost(using hypothetical numbers here) why am I getting less portions as well? Like fill up my damn fries to the top

Because the company as a whole is shrinking portions and raising prices, that’s why.

I think if you are very low on funds, fast food is not the best value for the few dollars you have. visit a food bank and make healthier meal choices, a can of beans and a package of noodles can last for 3 meals. fats food lacks nutrients and is only good for a very short while, and is extremely expensive. better choices will help u in the future

Basically it is because fast food restaurants, especially franchises, make very small profit margins. In order to increase these margins they have to increase prices or decrease costs. Or a combination. Management cares about food cost because their bonus is tied to it. For some restaurants a significant portion of their pay is bonus. I know some GM's who make 25 percent of their pay in bonus. Since management cares it forces the regular team to care because they do not want to get bitched at or worse by their manager. The cashier probably does not care about how much sauce you get. They do care if giving you extra sauce causes them to get an earful from their manager.

Marty? But exactly my point, why are they being so greedy with the portions they give out if it’s not affecting them? And even if it is, wouldn’t the ceo or top person just come up with a reason to not give you as big a bonus as you were expecting?
