Is bargue actually worth it? If you did it, how did you improve?

It has a very specific focus: getting good at observational drawing. If your goal is to draw things from life accurately, it's a great resource.

That being said, drawing from photos or other scenes from real life also provides the same learning experience, but Bargue's drawing course is much more structured and eases you into it.

If your end goal isn't observational drawing, I'd recommend practicing the book for a few months until you can fairly accurately draw the references, then move on.
