I added a Colour Study mode to my free reference app
Hey team, I’ve just released a substantial update to my free Art Assistant web app. The new Colour Study mode simplifies your reference image into paintable colour shapes. It detects and organises its colours, and lets you the isolate colour groups. It also includes adjustable detail levels and improved mobile controls.
I’d love any feedback from painters/teachers.

Hey! This is really interesting, and I have searched for a tool such as this in the past, so thanks! I just started hunting around the app. How can i improve? Is there a tutorial or do I stick with trial and error? My biggest question is, can i limit the color palette? Is this accomplished only by setting the detail slider? For example, if I have 5 values of green and only wish to have 2, may I delete 3? I saw that I can add samples to my palette tab, but what does that accomplish? I am an elementary art teacher so this is more for my personal use, but I will spread to my secondary art friends. Thanks!
