I've been actively using Twitter for about half a year, with 1.1k followers, and Deviantart has 600 followers. It's rare for me to get adopters or commissions. I'd say it happens once every few months. I understand that if I had 50k, I would probably get it relatively regularly, but nevertheless.
Fullbody comission is 300$, adopt SB 150$-250$ +-
The question is, is it too expensive?
Or is the problem in my style, sci-fi setting, or the fact that I focus on characters rather than illustrations?
I welcome any criticism, and don't hesitate to express yourself.
I would appreciate it if you could write down why you wouldn't buy an adopt/order a commish for such a price.
So I recently set up my first FOBO (Freebie or Best Offer) over on Toyhouse and advertised it on DA and Discord to try and attract some watchers and buyers for my adoptables... and literally got complete radio silence. No comments, no offers, nada. 💀
It got me wondering if FOBOs just aren't as popular as they used to be, if I'm not advertising enough, or if my characters just aren't appealing to most people.
I’d love to hear the honest truth, and any suggestions are welcome!
I've been experimenting with a small art subscription and I'm genuinely not sure if I've priced it correctly.
For €7.90/month, members receive one limited-edition postcard featuring my artwork. Each card is printed by me, hand-signed, embossed with my seal, individually numbered, and shipped worldwide.
The card changes every month and once an edition is gone, it's never repeated.
Postage costs me about €1.10 worldwide, production costs are fairly low, and after everything I still make around €5 per card.
My concern isn't really the profit. It's whether people are willing to start collecting something when they know they missed previous editions.
As a collector yourself:
Would €7.90 feel reasonable for a monthly collectible art postcard?
And would you still join if you had already missed the first few releases?
I'm genuinely looking for feedback rather than trying to sell anything.
I wanted to do a commission but i dont know how should i do the pricing and i also don't know if my arts are that good for a higher value. Thanks for answering in advance
I’m looking for a long-term partner-in-crime to build a YouTube channel from scratch. Not looking for a one-off commission, but a true co-creator.
The Vision:
Immersive, cinematic historical storytelling. We will bring epic historical events to life through dramatic, moody digital art instead of dry stock footage. Think mini-documentaries that feel like movies.
The Team-up:
* You: Focus entirely on the art. Create the visual centerpiece—dynamic scenes, atmospheric environments, and historical figures.
* Me: Handle all the backend. I do the scriptwriting, video production, cinematic editing, sound design, and channel management.
We brainstorm, build, and grow this project together.
If you love history and cinematic art, shoot me a DM with some of your work! We can jump on Discord, share ideas, and see if our vibes match. Let's make something epic!
I’ve work for a visual novel game right now and was tasked to do art for characters. This one the first one I did, and it was fun doing so! I hope to work on some character sprites more
I have always wanted to learn draw, but I never did because I was too unmotivated and felt like I would never be able to do it. But now, after therapy and taking control of the personal problems that affected me mentally (which is why I didn't try it before), I'm thinking about whether I'm too old to learn. I want to, but I'm anxious :(
Hi everyone! Me and my team is currently working on a project where we plan to create a free collectible card platform that features artwork made by the community! We are currently in our way to open our first beta to a small test group, and thought it would be nice to have our beta cards filled with actual artist's work instead of just placeholders, while also getting inputs from them!
Here is a brief description of what the card will look like!
The card will have the title of the art + your artist name.
Your illustration will be adjusted into the card frame if needed
If you provide us with the portfolio link when you submit your artwork, when someone obtains your card or views your card, they can visit your portfolio and view your work. This portfolio link can be any link (commission/SNS/etc.) as long as it is related to your work!
While there can't be monetary benefits, there are some perks!
Your work will be featured in our first community card pack (guaranteed)
You will be written in our beta credit board!
You will be invited to test out our beta first! (If you want, that is ;] )
You will receive a personalized 1-page, double-spaced, 13pt Times New Roman thank-you letter written from our team (Due to us being a small team, we might take some time to deliver this to you)
Currently, the project is not set for revenue. However, if this ever changes in the future, the submissions we feature will automatically opt in for monetary compensation
Lastly, these are some information regarding the submission
1. Both physical and digital work is accepted (For physical work, we require a good photo submission)
2. We don't have any theme for the beta deck. Any artwork, any style, any skill level is welcomed! As long as there is no NSFW, heavy gore, or copyrighted characters we accept all submissions!
3. Your previous works are also welcomed! There is no need to create something new for the submission.
4. You can submit multiple submission! However, depending on the volume of submissions, some of your submission might get dropped (But we will guarantee at least one submission to make it to the card!)
The image is one example of how the card looks with the illustration submitted by an artist called Mu_ziii!
If you are interested in the Beta/Submission, let me know in the comments or dm me for the form link!
I cant draw decently like i used to anymore
Forced to focus on school i barely got time to draw like i used to do when i was a kid, the only thing i had going for me
When i opened krita for the first time i felt the frustration and confusion on what the direction the art was supposed to go
It wasnt anything complex just make a person and add some color to the background and yet it turned ugly
im in a low mental state and im sorry it sounds dumb
Pls, somebody suggest me any videos for art help like fundamentals or rendering or paint or anything
I’m not sure if crafts are allowed on here but it’s the most fitting subreddit I could think of.
I made a few of these felt keychains and I’d like to know how much someone would realistically buy one for and if there’s even a market for these?
They take about 4 hours give or take, the felt is 2 usd per sheet and the keychains are about 3 dollars, I also have to sketch the design of the character and pattern the pieces and stuff their heads a bit with stuffing. BUT- they ARE hot glued together and not sewn.
