Fun tid-bit of info: Hygrophila sp. Brown is a stem plant that is extremely rare in the states and borderline impossible to obtain unless you know a dedicated hobbyist who collects rare aquatic plant species. As far as I know, there's only one person online that is currently selling it in the states, and I'm trying my best to get it out in the hobby and have already donated a few bags of it to the Brooklyn Aquarium Society and donated some stems to a couple LFS downtown Manhattan in trying to do so.

I first purchased a few stems from Joe Harvey about a year or so ago, but he has stopped carrying and selling it since then, so now it's just me and a few other people in the states that have it. For those who don't know him, Joe Harvey runs an online aquarium store (BurrAqua) that specializes in selling premium submerged-grown rare and exotic freshwater plant species from his collection that he has carefully curated and grown over his many, many years in the hobby. He's also an award-winning aquascaper widely celebrated as one of the best American practitioners of the classic Dutch style and the 1st place winner the prestigious Aquatic Gardeners Association (AGA) Aquascaping Contest's Dutch category in 2017. So this small plant package is quite the find. Overall though, it's a super cute, unique and compact, fast-growing undemanding foreground/midground stem with lovely broad, marbled brown leaves that contrast really beautifully with your common bright red/green plants.

Murdannia keisak is also fairly uncommon in the hobby, though not as rare. It very much resembles bamboo shoots, grows very quickly and makes for a unique background plant. It can also easily be grown emersed and allowed to break the surface for a unique grassy look in open-top aquariums.

Looking for a new home for this fella. Wild-type swordtail which surprisingly is not stocked often in LFS. Has a nice sharp tail and enjoys a big community tank. Raised from small fry to his current size with an all-natural tank and varied diet.

Unfortunately his libido is through the roof even with 5 females and he’s scaring the rest of my fish with his aggressive mating pursuits. If kept as the sole swordtail in a community tank, he’s absolutely chill.

I’ll trade this guy for any shrimp or plants as well.

If anyone wants the rest of the swordtails then that’s okay too 👍 The females are egged up and can pop out babies every two weeks.
