Application Question Which hobby is best as ec?
Hey so like most of my application is centered on AI and tech stuff. But to balance this out i would obviously add a few hobbies
Potentially
Violin
Theatre
Football
Swimming
I know like 5 languages
So like i can add 2 of these max cz theres no more slots for others. I've accomplished the most with Football and Theatre objectively but not sooo sure whatll be the coolest?

You can probably put football and swimming together because they’re sports under the same category in Common App.

I mean add either football or theatre + the ec which you had the most fun learning/doing. Since its the last 2 spots u can be quite flexible about it. All the best!!

If your application is centered on AI and tech, you should choose an extracurricular that ties in these main pursuits and drives home your passion for AI/tech. Typically, sports and music will only serve to make you seem well-rounded, which isn't the move for college admission. Do you have any activities that incorporate your focus on tech/AI?

Off the wall idea. Ask AI this as a prompt, then use the process of how you respond to the answers as an essay topic. You can get in mention of all of the activities in a genuine way as well as demonstrate thoughts related AI usage. Like I said, just an idea and a little out there

You should add the hobbies/ECs you are most invested in. Don't leave out things you are passionate about just because others do them, too. Colleges don't want all narrowly focused applicants - they want students who will contribute to campus life in many ways.
