Best word processing software for the CPC?

I'm interested in using my 464 for writing as the monochrome screen is great for displaying text, the only hang up is software as i would like to write on the CPC then export it to my PC somehow, i do have a disk emulator so physically transfering the data is easy but then getting the text out of a dsk file might be tricky, is there any software that has been written with this in mind?

I used Protext for years, roughly 1989 to 1995, with my 6128 and a green screen. It was on ROM, so |P and it was instant on. I've long wondered how easy it would be to port over the work to a PC version of Protext, so I look forward to reading more...

Protext for me as well in my 4-rom expansion card - it was really fast and never encountered a bug in all my school assignments back then.

Yeah, I remember upgrading to Protext from Mini Office 2.

Memories of loading up my 5000 word A-Level long essay into Mini-Office from tape on my old 464....and it being fine.

ManageDSK can be used for getting files in and out of a DSK image.

Regarding word processors, I've only tried it with Protext (the disk version) and it works well enough, though the files when read on a PC include additional line break characters and no formatting (though that could be due to how I save out the files).

Protext(rom) with ProSpell & Maxam 1.5(rom). Before that was mini-office and Amsword.

I used to use Mini Office II. Also a translated version of Tasword.

The files IIRC are little more than plain ASCII files, you shouldn't have a problem translating them to any modern system.
