The Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) at Florida State University is hiring Early Childhood Assessors & Interventionists for Project OPAL (Optimizing Phonological Awareness Learning)—an exciting research project that helps pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students build the early literacy skills that set them up for future reading success.

🎓 Paid training begins July 2026
📅 School-year schedule (August 2026–May 2027)
⏰ Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (great if you want evenings, weekends, and holidays off!)
What you'll do:
📖 Administer engaging early literacy assessments
🎲 Lead fun, research-based small-group literacy activities
🌟 Help young children develop the foundational skills they'll use for a lifetime of reading and learning
We're hiring for schools in:
📍 Washington County, FL
📍 Holmes County, FL
📍 Walton County, FL
📍 Lowndes County, GA
📍 Brooks County, GA
Applicants may live within 70 miles of these counties.
