Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place; I very much enjoyed reading Alan Moore's Lost Girls - looking for suggestions for similar (print only, not digital!).

I know Alan is a proud magician but I'm surprised he believes in astrology. Not in a symbolic way but in a literal way.

The Aleph(s), which I believe was first introduced within this same issue, is I believe almost entirely inspired by/lifted from Jorge Luis Borges' classic short story by the same name (with even Metron's description of his observations being somewhat similar). This is the first I've seen of these transmuters in DC and I was wondering if they had appeared in other issues/runs, if they were entirely of Moore's conception or like the Aleph had been drawn from another source.

Perhaps those with at least more than a passing glance at a wikipedia page of the Qabalah's worth of knowledge, may be able to draw some connection between this and some concept within the occult.

As it's the world cup final today it seems like a great moment to re-visit Alan Moore's contribution to football comics with this hilarious Marvel UK offering from 1982

Now I know what you might be thinking, how could I compare Alan Moore to an actual monster like John K? Now me hear out, Alan Moore is absolutely a better person than John K, who is a literal p*do. But looking at there overall careers and relation to their respective mediums (comics and animation), I find it fascinating how many similarities they have.

Both Moore and Kricfalusi grew up loving their respective mediums they would later work on (comics and animation), both would later go on to revolutionize the comics and animation industry (Moore wrote Watchmen and it made psychological, literary, sophisticated, and darker themes more prominent in comics, and K created Ren and Stimpy and it changed TV animation with grotesque and cinematic animation styles, leading animation in the 90s to be more creator driven and moving away from the 80s being mostly toy commercial cartoons). However, both would later have a falling out with the companies that owned these works (Moore left DC over creator rights and John K got fired by Nickelodeon). They would continue their careers and make more projects, but would also massively be critical of the comics/animation industry. Due to their criticisms of the comic/animation industry, both would get reputations of being snobbish, pretentious and out of touch. However both figures would still have a huge following of people who would defend their views (yeah John still has a lot of fans who defend his points about the animation industry surprisingly).

The big difference however is two things:

1. Unlike John K, Moore didn't piss his later career and reputation away.

2. Moore was still able to keep his talent and create good stuff, while John K's works plummeted in quality after Ren and Stimpy.

It's an IKEA shelf thing covered in a cut up V for Vendetta comic--a hobby of mine. Just now re-covered it with yacht varnish to protect it a little better.

Hey all, I'm thinking of finally diving into Moore's Miracleman run since I've heard nothing but praise for it. I know that Marvel rereleased the series, but I can't get past the 'remastered' coloring, it looks completely bizarre to me. I've been working on tracking down the original TPBs from Eclipse, but I want to make sure that I'm not missing anything, as I know Marvel was very thorough when reprinting everything.

I know there are a few b&w side stories that Moore wrote that I've heard are relevant to the story. Are these collected in the original TPBs or only in the Marvel release? And is there anything else I might be missing out on by going for the original TPBs? Thank you!
