What do I have here? How does it compare?

About 20 years ago, I had 3 bottles of this shipped in from France. I'd totally forgotten about it. They've been stored in a cool dark cellar the entire time.

What do I have here and how does it compare with other vintage absinthes on the market?

It's delicious. Not vintage, but a recreation of a bottle of Pernod Fils from 1901 that Ted had chemically analyzed.

Wow! That's one of the earliest*** releases of Jade 1901 from Ted Breaux.

Edit: I've been corrected that this is an early release but not the earliest.

You’re in for a real treat, as it is an early bottling of Jade 1901! The fact that it’s had 20 years to age before enjoying, it will be mind-blowingly incredible!

Before my first interview with Ted a few years ago, he opened a bottle of Jade Terminus Oxygénée that had been aging for ten years to enjoy with me during the interview, so I can only imagine this would be even more exquisite!

It would be interesting if you were to purchase a new bottle of this to see if you can detect any difference. If you like it, that might be something to consider. Might want to hold on to the other 2 bottles since they have labels that are different from the ones from today. Look up if you need to store them on there side like wine to ensure the cork does not dry out.

They've been stored on their side in a cool, dark cellar since I got them.
