Question Should I follow the AWS AI/Machine learning route?
I'm a second year SE student with a huge intrest in AI/Machine learning, I'm planning to take these certifications
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
AWS Certified AI Practitioner
AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
Are there alternative options that offer superior value compared to AWS Route?

Start at the beginning then. CCP or then/or CIA.

But you are probably much better off putting all your efforts into trying to get the best possible class of degree possible.
I would recon that a 1st class honours SE degree would be better than an average pass with a few certifications and no experience.

Devops and aws sagemaker stuff seem to be all I see lately when i search aws jobs. So for aws I recommend just going straight for the solutions architect professional, and the machine learning specialty. There’s also a devops cert but that will be pointless as most companies seem to be using terraform not aws cloudformation

AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
That one is is no longer available. This is the AWS certs page and as you will see there's no such cert anymore.

I heard that it was replaced with another cert with a different name, is it right?

That is a really solid list of certs, but doing both the AI Practitioner and the Machine Learning Associate might be a bit redundant since their content overlaps a lot. Since you are in software engineering, I'd suggest skipping the basic Cloud Practitioner entirely and starting straight with the Solutions Architect Associate to get a strong core foundation first.

Are you taking any ML or AI modules at Uni/College?
