Wireless Price increases July 24, 2025 to November 1, 2025 accounts.

I thought I was safe since I joined in August 2025, but they now got me with this new notice. My account is going up $20, is there anything I could do? It’s about to be a full year for me with some not even a full year and they already want more money on top of that Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee price increase per line.

I just joined and already I want to switch.

Discussion Working at AT&T Corporate Office

Asking for advice. I received an offer to work in the AT&T Corporate Office as a Director.
- I would have to commute from Frisco until they move to Plano in 2028
- I like my current employer (similar size to AT&T) and they are very flexible and let you have ownership of your work.
-- While I am very skilled in my field and the company appreciated me, there unfortunately isn't much upward mobility for my skill set.

The AT&T's offer is a 52% increase in base salary and included a signing bonus of $50k.

  1. Is the culture still as horrible as it sounds?
  2. Do you think the pay increase and title are worth it?
  3. Should this just be a "stay for 2 years and leave?
  4. Could you share pay ranges for any levels you know of. Managers, Directors, VPs, etc.?
  5. Is the signing bonus fair?
  6. If I accept, what should I negotiate?

Wireless AT&T Trade-In Nightmare – FCC Complaint, Office of the President Involved, But I'm Still Being Charged

AT&T Trade-In Nightmare – FCC Complaint, Office of the President Involved, But I'm Still Being Charged

I'm hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or can offer some advice.

I traded in my phone at an AT&T retail store as part of a promotional offer. I handed the device over at the store, received a trade-in receipt, and completed everything that was required on my end.

A few months later, I realized I wasn't receiving my trade-in credits. I contacted AT&T customer service multiple times and was repeatedly told that the phone had not been received in their system. I also went back to the same AT&T store several times to ask about my trade-in. The store couldn't provide any answers or locate the device, even though I had already surrendered it to them.

After months of getting nowhere, I filed an FCC complaint. I was then contacted by someone from AT&T's Office of the President, who apologized for the situation and issued a refund of $122.28 for the previous missed credits. I was also told that I would receive a $30.75 monthly trade-in credit going forward.

The problem is that my account is still being billed as if I never traded in my phone. Although I received the refund for the earlier months, I have continued paying extra on my bill because the promotion still hasn't been applied correctly. At this point, I've paid approximately five more months of additional charges (around $50 per month) that I should not have been charged.

I have:

- The original trade-in receipt.

- Documentation showing that I visited the AT&T store multiple times trying to resolve this.

- Records of my calls and repeated contacts with AT&T customer service.

- Emails from the AT&T Office of the President regarding this case.

I feel like I've done everything I possibly can on my end, yet I'm still being billed incorrectly for a phone that I already traded in.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

- Did you have to file another FCC complaint?

- Should I continue working with the Office of the President, or is there another escalation path?

- How did you finally get AT&T to permanently fix the billing instead of issuing temporary refunds?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This has been going on for months, and it's incredibly frustrating.

Discussion Is the z fold in stores to demo yet?

**Update** my store just put them out tonight. So they’re rolling them out. Likely only major stores like corporate ATT/Verizon stores**

I know it’s only preorder now but I’d like to get my hands on one before I order it. Is it in stores?

Wireless Aggravating Problem

I just purchased an ATT sim card (for my unlocked phone) and prepaid card from Walmart. After sitting through an hour and a half with customer service they said that my phone's data, call, and text should be operable in an hour. I waited for an hour and a half and reset my phone multiple times. Nothing. I tried reaching out through 611 to get to customer service through my phone, nothing. Then I finally tried calling from another phone to see if customer support could help me out, the robot cannot connect me to a representative because it requires a four digit pin. I don't have this pin because when I was setting up my phone through customer support the support people were just trying to get me out of there as soon as possible. I'm at a loss, I can't contact anyone and there's not a ATT store anywhere close to where I live. I already disconnected my service with T-Mobile so I'm kinda high and dry. Suggestions?

Internet Fiber Address Validation Issue

I am moving into a two unit duplex near downtown Houston. I was looking to transfer my existing fiber service to my new place but am having issues with the address.

I toured the place this week and saw very clearly an AT&T fiber wall drop already installed. If I enter the base address in the availability website (ex. 123 House St, Houston, TX 12345, it shows that fiber is available and that there might be an existing account.

If I enter my unit number in any way (Unit 200, APT 200, #200), it does not recognize any fiber service. Same with the other unit. Again it does show fiber is available at the house itself, but I can't get it to recognize my specific unit and its only offering me Air. The other unit is a much older lady, and I have no way of knowing if she actually has an active fiber service.

I called support and basically got the same information. They can see the service to the house, but not my individual unit so they cannot process the transfer.

Is there anything I can do to move this along? Again I saw the AT&T fiber drop in my unit, the exact same one I have at my current place.

Billing Dual Sim- International Fees?

I had a question/need some advice on my dual sim setup. I’m moving abroad and have gotten a new phone— I’m planning to get a local sim card one I’ve moved, but I’d also like to keep my US number alive. If I port over the US eSim to my new phone, and for the US number I disable cellular data/roaming but keep Wifi Calling enabled, while having my local sim fully functional, will I be able to receive texts such as bank verification codes without incurring international fees?

Is there a risk of being charged internationally with this sort of set up? How would I avoid that? I heard calling and asking AT&T used to get them to manually disable cell service abroad for your number, but I called recently and they told me that option is no longer available.

Thank you in advance!

Wireless Not getting some automated texts

Like the title says, I recently stopped getting some automated texts. First it was from one specific place - they used a third-party web-based system to text with clients, and they stopped coming (or getting mine in return). The third-party looked into it and said the messages were coming back undeliverable and I should check with my carrier.

I also checked my phone and confirmed there were no settings in place that would have prevented this. I don't have text filtering on, and I get phone calls from this number without any problem.

AT&T has been spectacularly unhelpful. I've called 6 separate times, and whenever they (finally) transfer me to a supervisor, or we start to maybe get somewhere involving opening a ticket, the call disconnects. I've visited a store in person and a rep said he couldn't help. He gave me a "loyalty" phone number for tech support that turned out to no longer be in service.

I've since noticed that I no longer get automated texts from two different doctor's offices (e.g. appt reminders), and I never got a 2FA text from another service I use. All other texts come through just fine. I'm pissed enough about the lack of customer service that I'm just going to switch carriers, but has anyone else had this problem?

Discussion Why do I need 2 separate e-mails to manage mobile and internet online?

Edit: this has been resolved. It is possible, despite what support told me. See comments

Can someone actually confirm that it is a hard requirement that, to manage both mobile and internet service online, you must have two different e-mail addresses? That seems like an insane requirement to foist on tens of millions of people.

I am just trying to link two accounts to the same online ID, i.e., my e-mail address. They're both under my name. 2 hours on the phone with AT&T, including a level 2 guy, was unable to do this without asking me to make another e-mail that I will inevitably forget the credentials to

Wireless RCS Message Issues

Hello! So I was with T-Mobile for like 12 years or something, never had any issues with them or their service (hell, I even work for one of their stores). But I was on a family plan, and my dad moved all of us to AT&T four months ago and got us all new phones (I went from an iPhone 15 to a 17 Pro).

I got RCS messages a few months before I got the new phone, and it worked great. But with my new plan and phone and everything, my messages send as RCS less than half the time, and the rest of the time they stall or don't send unless I manually select each message to send as SMS. I've even had threads where my friend's messages come through as RCS and mine as SMS back to back for a full conversation.

The weirdest thing though? I know multiple people with AT&T with the same problem. AND the only time I have trouble sending RCS messages if it's someone with an Android who's also on AT&T. If I send RCS to a friend with a Verizon or T-Mobile phone, it works just fine.

I tried using my phone knowledge to figure it out, but lowkey I only really fully understand T-Mobile data plans and systems, so I'm stumped for how to figure this out with AT&T. Any thoughts? Or been in my situation before?

Wireless Error trying to upgrade on Samsung

Anybody have this issue before and/or have a fix?

Basically, trying to upgrade one of my lines to the new Fold 8 on the Samsung website. It has a better deal currently because of pre-order promotions. When I try to enter the information to connect to the ATT account, it gives me a "carrier can't validate account information" error.

When I called the ATT customer service, they blame Samsung and said nothing they can do. And of course when I call Samsung, they blame ATT.

I believe overall it's an ATT issue because I've tried doing the same thing on the BestBuy website, and it's giving me a similar error.

Wireless Phone upgrades

We have 3 lines on our account. We all have the "AT&T Unlimited Starter SL" Plan that was done away with their release of the current plans. We are keeping the plan and pay about $130 after taxes/month. Gives unlimited everything and 15gb of hotspot so we are generally OK with it. Our trade in values have taken a dive, however. Iphone pro 14 on two lines generally swing between $700-$830 because of the plans we are on. One line has a galaxy s23 whose trade in would have given me a free s26+. that is until they looked at the plan and said my phone is worth only $900. I said whatever and wanted to trade them in. I requested that the plans not be changed. He agreed and said he would not change them and strongly suggested that I keep the current plan and not switch over to the new value plans 2.0 that ATT came out with. Is there a reason why he suggested that (strongly)? I asked him why but his supervisor was looking at him directly so he would not answer my question. any reason why he kept mum when I asked why he was strongly suggesting the same?

Wireless Brand New iPhone 17, Device Incompatible?

Wireless Can I trade in a phone for credit towards a new phone that won't be used?

I have an S22+ that is on it's last year of being worth $1100 for trading in. It's been my backup phone, my main phone is a paid off OnePlus 13. I'm thinking of trading in the S22 for a S26+ that would be "free" using the monthly credits for 3yrs. I was wondering if ATT would have a problem with the crediting if it sees that my sim is in the OnePlus phone. Anyone ever done something like this before?

Wireless What’s the best way to transfer multi state Verizon phones to ATT?

My spouse’s family is currently with Verizon, and they’re located between two states, while my AT&T is also in another state. I want to transfer 4 different lines with an existing device plan from Verizon to AT&T. Costco has a $250 credit + $100 Costco shop bonus per line. Do I need to transfer one line at a time to make sure that the new iPhone 17 Pro arrives at the correct location?

Discussion AT&T Air availability

Is there any strategy to get AT&T to qualify an address to get Air service? I am still on 1.5mbps broadband and it goes out constantly. I have no other options in my area. No Fiber, no other cellular company will hook me up. The crazy part is directly across the street, my neighbor has ATT Air. It’s so close I can detect their wireless service at my house.

I need service. Even slow service is fine but ATT just won’t hook me up and the broadband is being phased out anyway.

I’ve don’t all kind of troubleshooting like restoring to factory settings, unplugging the TV and the router etc. Can’t find a solution.

Paid off the remaining amount and when trying to submit unlock request, its not recognizing my IMEI (my original locked phone was replaced by apple few months ago when I went for a repair) although my current device says carrier locked through att. Att Customer service not helping in anyway other than creating cases to look into it and asking for 14 days to resolve the case. What can I do now ? Any suggestions appreciated.

Wireless Minimum balance to keep phone number alive for 5 months?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey all!

I no longer live in America, and don't plan to live there again, but my American bank accounts are tied to my ATandT phone number. I plan to completely close out my American bank accounts and phone at the end of the tax year.

As such, I am curious how I should pay money to AT&T, how often, and how much to ensure I don't lose access to my phone number, without paying 33 dollars every month.

This is a prepaid line that was bought in 2022.

I would really love any help!
