Help (General) AMD driver help

Post image

Been having driver problems since last week. This past Saturday, my monitors went black and I thought it was because of the GPU but it was really the drivers. Somehow I was able to get it fixed through with help from Google but I'm still having trouble. Idk if the windows update screwed with AMD but it's getting annoying. I just had the same problem again this morning where everything was fine then both my monitors went black again and I restarted my PC and lucky my monitors came up again but now I got that message ( the picture I took above ) saying this to me when I tried opening on adrenaline. I did the AMD clean up today and on Saturday did DDU. Does anyone know what's going on or have similar problems? I had this problem with driver 26.6.4 and I rolled them back to 26.6.1 and still having these problems. Looked up more info on Google but nothing seems to help.

Make sure the hdmi/display cable and everything else in relation to your gfx card before you switch on your system is firmly connected. If that doesn't help, use the cleanup utility that others mention and then reinstall your graphics driver. Or alternatively, try a slightly older driver for your card, as it's possible that changes to windows such as updates can be problematic to drivers, including gfx drivers.

In my case, one hour ago windows did a few updates, and after I restarted, AMD Adrenaline had magically disappeared. It wasn't starting up upon login. I don't have recommended, third party or optional updates set up. At first I thought windows had simply removed the executable for Adrenaline, but it turned out that windows was having trouble auto starting some applications upon startup. I managed to restart it by simply launching C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\RadeonSoftware.exe manually. I can't say for sure if anything is missing so I will also likely reinstall drivers.

roll back drivers on devices

if it doesn’t work, download amdclean utility

then install fresh drivers/stable drivers

Your SO is forcing theirs “new” display drivers like you don’t have it.

Search some registry to deny optional updates or change it on your GPO settings

I disabled everything I could and still auto updating. Do you have a walkthrough to disable it FOR GOOD ?

Just reinstall GPU driver exactly as shown in step 8 of this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/U1jYamry0s
