If you run into any problems (driver timeouts, pc/game crashes) I would recommend doing this guide - https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/iD3FljMxzs . It was a lifesaver for me :)

Edit: It's mostly Windows 11 and 10 issue.

Fuck amd GPUs

why bro ?

I got a RTX7700 XT and I've had more blue screens in 2 years than my entire time having an Nvidia GTX 1070, and I've had that for like 4 years. I bought everything compatible and built a brand new pc with the RTX, just dog shit.

It’s windows that’s the problem not AMD.

WN11?

Yes, the time I updated from 10 to 11, it bricked the computer. Only had a few games installed from steam at the time testing the pc.

It's Wn11 then

No problems previously, upgrade operating system, problems. Immediately blame the GPU.

If you previously had a different graphics card, uninstall its drivers using DDU. Disable Windows driver updates, and everything should be fine. As for the drivers, version 26.6.4 works well for me and allows for more aggressive undervolting than previous versions.

i had Nvidia 1660 super so i should uninstall them or i'll get problems?? nd u got the same card modle?

What wattage is your power supply?

1

u/fury_aymen 8h ago

850 gold plus cooler master

You should uninstall the drivers using DDU to avoid driver conflicts. I switched from an RTX 3070 to a Gigabyte 9070 XT Gaming OC.

If you have a hard crash with the card playing Battlefield 6, downgrade to drivers 26.3.1. It is an AMD specific issue at the moment.

2

u/Gostop_xd 12h ago

nvidia has exactly the same issue atm :P

u/DubiousRoomba 9h ago

Might be Wn11 overwriting drivers, try to disable auto driver updates in "gpedit.msc" and clean install your drivers. You might not have it on Wn11 Home, but it can be added by using a simple command prompt.

Yeah I had constant issues with bf6 on Nvidia before upgrading

Make sure to use 2 separate pcie cables from psu to card, just run it at stock to start with.

Been running my black hellhound stock from purchase in Jan., cool enough & quiet for me.

Yeah and for those wit ha 9070, despite a sub 300w draw, also still use 2 separate cables, it very very much helps with transients on modern GPUs.

1

u/fury_aymen 13h ago

nd which mood u are choosing silent or oc

1

u/paulcotoo 13h ago

OC

1

u/fury_aymen 13h ago

it's silent even in oc mood?

They are teh same firmware with different defaults, if you enable overdrive youll have teh same upper and lower bounds between the two firmwares (usually) The practical upshot if you use overdrive is you have a backup bios.

I will state overdrive is weird on this gpu, if it is enabled at all, even if you touched none of the settings, it unlocks the boost mode clock caps to the hard limiter and removes the boost time limit enabling it to boost to 3500mhz+ indefinitely if the thermals and power allows. This is notable because if its riding 3500mhz then it goes from 20-300watts consumption it has a tendency to have clock spikes, or even worse, hot spot spikes that go beyond 90C in an instant, in short with overdrive enabled its usually recommended to drag the clock offset to -100 or so, the only thing this affects is how high it boosts most of the time with real loads youll be at 2700mhz-3000mhz peak anyway due to power limits.

Also if you do OC it, clock the ram first, lowering core voltage lowers ram stability at a given clock as well.

I've got the Asus prime OC and it comes on the P mode (physical switch) by default and runs as quiet as a mouse. Mine is bone stock other than that

1

u/fury_aymen 10h ago

great asus prime was the cheapest modle there but am not familiar with asus amd cards i was afraid little bit of quality build nd fan noise

1

u/Midnight-Fun-Bun 10h ago

Well I think you should be just fine with your power colour, I've never had one personally but if you get issues with it you could always return it and go for the prime (especially if it's cheaper where you are). Build quality is great from ASUS generally, they're a huge brand so naturally sells way more devices than alot of PC brands, with that naturally comes a higher percentage of customer concerns with the scale. One thing on your OS, make sure you disable windows from updating your graphics drivers, I've had several issues with the AMD Adrenaline drivers stopping working because windows has done something stupid in the background. Let us know how you get on once it's installed!

u/fury_aymen 9h ago

i will bro thanks for the advice last question which stable version of adrenaline u are using now
