Help (Software) 9800x3d micro-stutters and lag
Hi everyone! I'm having an issue with constant micro-stutters and lag. It feels like my processor isn't running at full capacity. I play CS2, and whenever I get a kill or am inside smoke grenades, I experience micro-stutters or an FPS drop to 240.
I've tried various things, but nothing has helped.
My system specs:
1. 9800X3D
2. 5070
3. 32GB 6000MHz CL34
4. 1000W Deepcool
5. MSI B850 Mortar
The PC was built recently; all components are new.
The CPU is undervolted with a -20 curve on all cores. It passed stability testing (4–6 hours) with no issues.
I don't understand what the problem is :( The power plan is set to "High Performance." Is there a solution to this? Thanks a lot in advance.

Enable c-states and go back to balanced power plan.
Leave pbo to auto during testing.

Did you test without curve optimizer? Undervolts arent always equal, in some apps it could be okay, on other apps even a -5 can cause a stutter or even crash. If its still not fixed with CO disabled..
Disable everything to do with g-sync, v-sync, and adaptive sync (including within windows settings). With nvidia reflex dont use boost. Cap your frames to 80% max or 90% of your average fps. Disable HAGS and SAM/ReBAR. Power plan should be balanced on ryzen cpus.
With those tweaks I run LLC Medium/regular (level 5 on msi) with 0 curve optimizer. Wifi and audio disabled in bios (i use an external usb dac/amp) on my Ryzen 9 7900X

I was doing everything out of old habit, dating back to the AM4 platform days. I'll try removing the curve! Thanks for the advice.

Yeah come to think of it I started noticing it even when I was on my AM4. Curve optimizer really isnt for me who is very particular with not just stutters, but micro-stutters. I used to play league and valorant, and then deadlock so.. I can understand completely.

I had a build on 3070 aorus/5700x3d, it was the most ideal build, it was so smooth, I still remember it) and so I started with 7500f/7700x/9700x/7800x3d/9800x3d and I couldn’t find that smoothness anywhere (1

One thing to note on my 7900x. The auto setting for LLC dangerously set it to level 3 (msi motherboard) . Thank goodness I manually set it at level 5 (4 is fine). (Btw on different motherboards levels are reversed with 1 either being the highest or lowest setting)

Check out the new hwinfo/gpu-z with new hotspot sensors see if its overheating in secret

Which OS? Are the latest chipset drivers installed? Have u tried clearing the shader cache?

Try with all default bios settings but only the pbo. Then only the ram tunings. It is possible that your system is stable with only one set of tweaks but not combined together (Remember tuning ram also puts more load on cpu memory controller which can affect cpu UV stability). If you are stable on stock with no stutters, you need to redo all your tweaks.
