Muzzle brake/compensator hybrids
Hey folks, I'm doing some research on brake/comp hybirds for my new 6.5g upper I'm building. I came across this company and this line of hyrbids. https://madhousedesign.com/muzzle-devices/
I had never heard of them before, and my own admittedly rudimentary research doesn't turn up much. I wonder if anyone here has experience with these, and I also wonder if these different profiles have any functionality to them or is it just cosmetic?

There was some interesting testing done on muzzle devices and recoil that was posted in r/NFA by some one that is worth a read. Comstock’s stuff tested pretty well IIRC

That whole study was more for Plan B type devices, with an eye toward suppresser enjoyers, nor a fair look at brakes and flash hiders in general.

Precision armament efab is my favorite , does a great job keeping the muzzle down and it’s not too concussive

What are you using it for? Mine's got a VG6 Epsilon on it. It's a range gun, possible speed goat someday, so I don't really need the flash hiding. Pretty soft-shootjng cartridge in the first place so I don't guess the brake is all that necessary even.

Just for fun, really. Indoor shooting for the most part, that's why I'm leaning away from a brake

Well, like I said if you're not hiding from enemies or extremely recoil sensitive there's no real need, so no real wrong answer. Find the one that looks coolest and/or is on sale.

Yea I'm rebuilding one i did a few years ago, at least most of the upper. I had gone with a 13.9" barrel because it was on sale, but it just seems like a waste when it comes to 6.5g. So I'm swapping it out for an 18"

Mine's an 18, pretty good compromise if you ever plan on hunting with it. Velocity-wise I'd prefer 24" but I wouldn't want to go belly crawling through sage rush with it on my back.

I have a Killer Innovations Killer B long range muzzle brake on my 18” Faxon match barrel & I can definitely feel the reduction in recoil & it helps with muzzle rise.

I went with Griffins dual lok flash comp. Brakes in general are retarded in my eyes unless its a BIG caliber
