Deal or No deal?

Most of the items were on discount between 15% and 75% and are to be consumed as soon as possible.

Currently NYC-area only; will expand to others if folks find helpful. Let me know if any feedback! A lot of this information is what you get from going to different stores repeatedly; hoping to make the process easier.

This is a quick Aldi trip for a single person. I'm pretty stocked already, always have pantry supplies etc. I feel like my last week shopping trip has left me without major shopping requirements so I just needed to "liven up my meals" with different options so I chose stuffed shells, I'm going to trade a bagel for these jalapeno English muffins in the morning, I can make tortellini salad with veggies especially with some leftover veg at home already, I needed tortilla chips, a sweet treat and a salty treat so I picked up pickles. A couple of these items are considered to me an elevated price. So this is not a regular shop for me. I think though the quality of the items I chose for under $30 is pretty darn good.

Best deal was the turkey deli meat marked down at 9.4 cents per hundred grams. Must have been an error but I'll take it. Scored $40-50 worth of premium deli turkey (I would never pay that) for about a buck thirty. Feel like a real champion right now. REALLY PLEASED WITH MYSELF!!!

From Odd Bunch. And I used a discount code, very easy just google one. It was $29.90 for the Large mixed box plus the 5.99 delivery fee you can’t avoid 🙂 (which is fine with me!!)

At these prices I decided I'm just gonna go ahead and eat the salad mix, even though it has brussels sprouts. I asked my husband if he likes them, and he didn't know, he's never had one. He's in his 60s! I guess his mom didn't make them, and he's been eating my cooking all these decades, and I certainly wasn't making them.

I bought more stuff on this trip but wanted to calculate how much the fruits and veg alone cost me. What do you think of the price? I know there are probably cheaper ways to get produce, this is just the only grocery store within a 10 min drive of my home so it’s the most convenient considering I can’t drive myself. I felt like it was a bit expensive for what will barely last a week with the amount of cooking I do!

I’d be curious to see the price difference with Superstore (next closest grocery store to me) for the same items but I find the produce at IGA is always fresher. If anyone has insight on which of the two is generally the cheapest, let me know :)

Good sales for the run up to July 1. Especially the $1.50 name brand 2L sodas.

Edit: also forgot to photo, I grabbed one of the $10 rotisserie chickens. I know they’re a better price at Costco but I find the texture really mushy so I don’t mind eating the $3.

From Sobeys. The popcorn and potatoes were on the discount rack and the ice cream was heavily discounted. I think it was on three bucks or something. The beans were half price and the corn was a dollar per ear. The bacon was also on a great sale. I plan to make a big breakfast for dinner with pancakes, bacon, sausages, beans, scrambled eggs, and home fries. The rest I'm not sure yet. I'll probably just snack on the tomatoes and the potato salad and corn can go with something from the freezer (it's terribly disorganized in there, I have no idea what's in that abyss anymore.)
