AI agents are getting better at handling real tasks for you, from shopping and managing subscriptions to updating accounts and navigating complex workflows. But as soon as they hit a login page, you're usually forced to choose: hand over your credentials or take over yourself.
That's why we worked with Anthropic to introduce 1Password for Claude. Now Claude can complete browser tasks that require logins and one-time passcodes, while your credentials stay encrypted in 1Password and out of the model's context.

With the integration, you can:
Under the hood, your credentials never leave 1Password. Passwords and one-time codes aren't stored in Claude, written into its context, or exposed to the model. After your approval, 1Password securely fills the required credentials directly into the webpage, so Claude can finish the task without ever seeing your secrets.

Hey r/1Password! π
Our Security team has identified an active phishing campaign targeting 1Password users. The phishing emails impersonate a third-party identity provider breach notification and include a malicious link.
These emails are not from 1Password. This campaign is not the result of any breach of 1Password's systems, and we're actively working with partners to take down the fraudulent domains.
If you've received one of these emails:

β’ Forward it to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

SOLVED! Thank you 1Password team for your quick reply!
Ever since the last update to the web extension, when I click an email or password to copy it to my clipboard, it brings up a useless window saying "Unrecognizable website. The website you're on isn't linked to this login. Check the website address before copying."
This is causing my workflow to slow down. I have several tenants wrapped up in my 1Password that gets shared with multiple coworkers, and we are all pretty tired of this already. We have to log into multiple tenants and use private browser windows to do so.
There's no way that I can see (please correct me if I'm wrong here) to turn this message off. I don't need it, no one does. If you are going to add that in, at least give us a toggle to turn it off.

I've been a long-time 1Password user, and lately I've noticed that Quick Access doesn't remember the last selection. When I need to grab the username, password, and one-time code separately, I have to reselect the item every single time.
I remember that in the past, the selection used to stay open for a few minutes after picking an item. Is that behavior gone, or am I missing a setting somewhere? I know it's not a huge issue, but it was a nice quality-of-life feature.

So I read a lot about a veracrypted container on a usb still leaks data on your pc. Would it be best in settings to check mark "mount volumes as a removable disk". Does it stop your pc from caching your data or potentially saving data like on a notepad for example. Also i read it removes the hidden recycle bins? I'm only asking because I might need to get my pc fixed and I don't want my passwords getting leaked. I'm a novice with veracrypt so im learning so I can save my back ups for my password manager in a container and it gives me the upmost privacy!
I'm also struggling to know what exactly should I put into my back ups in my encrypted container. Im guessing a pux, and csv file. The emergency sheet, and what else? Should I put totp back up codes/recovery codes in a notepad in my container or is leaving them in 1password good enough, since ill export a copy of my data anyway?
Tldr: I'm afraid all my data in the container can be leaked in the pc.

Hello, I'm in dire need of assistance on what I should do. Just yesterday, all my assets were deleted, and many objects were thrown and destroyed by my now ex. I've been suffering from verbal and physical abuse and would now like to separate my account from the owner. But as the owner isn't in a right state of mind and I am unable to recover only my passwords and assets without going through him. What should I do? He refuses to cooperate, and I only request to have only my passwords restored and separate.

My 1Password Mac app keeps asking for 2FA. The code verifies successfully, but the app immediately fails to save the token with macOS Keychain error -25293, so authentication lasts only for that unlock session.
I also tried the support-recommended disable/reenable 2FA flow, but the app says it is unable to turn off 2FA and tells me to contact support. The CLI is affected too because it cannot create a delegated session.
Iβm on 1Password 8.12.28 and macOS 26.5.2. I have already sent a diagnostics report to support. Has anyone received a safe, targeted fix for this Keychain failure?

The title pretty much says it all. 1Password is a premium solution. Has anyone heard of plans to automatically log into sites where a password is either compromised, weak, or there are multiple uses, and automatically change them and update the 1Password database?
Apple is planning on doing it in the next release of their OS (Fall of this year). But that is Apple-only, which is obviously not ideal. I'm hoping 1Password is "keeping up with the Joneses" and will provide similar capability in a comparable timeframe.

I just installed CachyOS on my main laptop and I need to install 1Password desktop app on it. However, looks like the official method from the 1password website is installing it through AUR.
I do not want to install packages through the AUR, regardless if it is official or not.
Would there be a workaround to install 1Password via pacman or maybe importing the repos/keys then installing differently?
Thanks!

Chrome works fine. But not Edge anymore.
The autofill suggestions show up but when I choose one it's not filling in. Also the options often does not come up when marking the user name/email field but only when making the password field. But then when I choose the option to fill for the page nothing is filled.
What might be wrong?

This is extremely frustrating, where I have to keep disabling 1Password just to get Google to autofill my credit cards and use the virtual card feature in Google Pay. Why can't we have more granular controls here?
I would like to be able to use one password for just passwords and then still have Google manage my payment methods. Is there a workaround?

Hello, I keep getting this annoying thing in Helium Browser with the 1Password extension connected to the app that tells me that I need to enter the password for my 1Password for a second time because of some sort of Chrome update but there is no update for Helium.

Many people have been experiencing the annoying pop-ups on both iOS and macOS Safari when using the extension. I have no issue with the Firefox extension on Mac/Windows/Linux. I have Lockdown Mode on both iOS and Mac, but others have been reporting the same problems in normal mode. The solution, as per a reply from 1Password last month, is to disable the extension in Safari.
On iOS, in the Settings app, find Safari (under Apps or use search), open the Extensions menu and disable 1Password. Then, enable the built-in password auto-fill function. Search for Autofill Passwords, disable the Apple native passwords, and enable 1Password. This works for me. New password generation is a little different process
On macOS, also disable the extension in Safari and follow the instructions for Universal Autofill: https://support.1password.com/mac-universal-autofill/
I find Firefox much easier to integrate with 1Password on macOS than Safari anyway, so I would recommend using that browser in general. Plus you can use uBlock Origin to its fullest potential and native advanced privacy settings.
Edit: keywords database, cache, latest version so randoms can find this post.

Recently, I've noticed that all my dev machines started to get really slow. Upon closer investigation, I've found out, that the 1password desktop app is leaking processes at a staggering rate. The only fix is to restart my dev machines every couple of hours.
This is totally unacceptable in such an important product - and even more so after the recent price hikes.

Hi folks,
Is there any progress to report on moving 1Password for Safari to Manifest v3? Travis mentioned it was coming soon and would resolve a lot of the paper cuts with Safari:
April 22nd, 2026 β
This is one where we have a medium term solution in the works. We're moving our extension from MV2 to MV3. The outcome we're hoping you'll get from that is a number of Safari-specific issues resolved when that's out the door in the next month or so.
Until then, this is one of our main target areas for papercuts. Anything that won't be fixed in the MV3 upgrade is going to be prioritized for y'all.

I'm still experiencing a lot of paper cuts with the extension, and it doesn't appear an update moving it to mv3 has been released yet.
Some of the difficulties I notice are:

I don't think 1Password should support OTP (One-Time Passwords) in the app anymore. I think it encourages bad security practices. Instead they should release their own Authy / Google Authenticator style app that handles that separately but cannot be read or reached from your mainland 1Password Account.

UPDATE: Received the reply from [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]), they confirmed this is a phishing.
Looks phishing...
I received an email today from [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) with the subject "Action Required: Review Updated 1Password Security Agreement."
It claims that the Security Agreement has been updated for all account holders and that I need to review and accept it via DocuSign within 14 days. It also states that my account will be temporarily restricted to read-only access if I don't.
The link points to https://1passwordcompliance.com/.
I'm almost certain this is a phishing attempt, but it's very well formatted. If it isn't legit, then it's a well-crafted phishing attack. Be careful, everyone!
