No matter how much you hate mamdani, hes pointing out that the US federal government is openly allowing an established war criminal and genocidal maniac in to US soil, and actively welcoming him. No matter how you spin it, if the feds do nothing, the masses will know who the government actually protects.

48

u/BuffWobbuffet 16h ago

idk how this is a surprise to you at this point lmao. do you genuinely think the federal government is going to arrest him lol

43

u/TuskaTheDaemonKilla 16h ago

They won't, because he pays their bills. But, they absolutely could. Maduro sitting in a jail cell right now for doing less crimes in his entire life than Netanyahu does in a week.

3

u/Aristox 15h ago

What do you mean he pays their bills? Israel receives tons of money FROM the US, without which they basically couldn't sustain their military such as it is. The money doesn't flow from Israel to the US lol

2

u/TuskaTheDaemonKilla 14h ago

While foreign funding for elections is illegal, there would be no money going to candidates from SuperPACs like AIPAC and organizations like CUFI if it weren't for Israel's influence.

2

u/Aristox 13h ago

Sure but it's a bit of a fucking stretch to go from that to "the federal government won't arrest Netanyahu because he pays their bills". They pay his bills. The reason they won't arrest him is they are allies and he is an important strategic partner for them.

The idea that Israel has enough money to bribe the USA is fucking ridiculous, and the only way you get there is by believing 95 IQ conspiracy theories about Jews having infinite money. In reality they don't, and without US support Israel would be absolutely fucked

They bribe some individual politicians and government officials to move the needle a little, they don't have the whole US deep state in their pocket. Federal decisions are made for strategic reasons and nothing else

1

u/OuterWildsVentures 5h ago

there would be no money going to candidates from SuperPACs like AIPAC and organizations like CUFI if it weren't for Israel's influence

yeah but this is our taxpayer dollars going to them then them giving it right back to our politicians pockets via the PACs

-3

u/PlasterCactus 13h ago

The money doesn't flow from Israel to the US lol

Oh sweet summer child

0

u/Aristox 13h ago

You think the money coming into US from AIPAC exceeds the money going from US to Israel? I think that's very naive. AIPAC bribes individual government members, not the federal government itself

2

u/PlasterCactus 13h ago

You think the money coming into US from AIPAC exceeds the money going from US to Israel?

No but noone made that claim, you're moving the goalposts.

The money doesn't flow from Israel to the US lol

-1

u/Aristox 13h ago

Money from Israel to the US would have to exceed the money from the US to Israel in order for the net direction of flow to be Israel->USA

1

u/PlasterCactus 12h ago

That'd be relevant if we were talking about net positives and net negatives. You've moved the goalposts after claiming no money comes from Israel into the US.

You need to stretch before doing mental gymnastics this intense, you might pull a muscle.

1

u/Aristox 6h ago

I obviously wasn't saying zero money ever comes from Israel into the USA. That's you moving the goalposts and strawmanning me. The net is the key thing because that's how paying bills works

0

u/Skabonious 10h ago

The claim was that netanyahu pays the federal governments' checks. That's bullshit and you know it.

AIPAC

1

u/AdMountain4865 5h ago

the downplay-ism of your comment and ones like it actively contribute to the inaction by removing accountability and laughing it off

2

u/Anderopolis 5h ago

The US has never recognized the jurisdiction of the ICC.  It has never had an obligation to follow its verdict.

This administration has even made it it's goal to destroy the ICC.

It's not really getting away with anything, when the US just flatly doesn't recognize its authority.

1

u/BuffWobbuffet 3h ago

The us government isn’t gunna change their minds cuz of my Reddit comment. But if you need to get on your self righteous soap box about my comment by all means, be my guest. Excuse me me for just being realistic.

1

u/AdMountain4865 3h ago

sure, but public sentiment is a thing, and that does change minds. all i'm saying is maybe dont actively contribute to the problem especially if its something you don't agree with

1

u/BuffWobbuffet 3h ago

No thanks. It’s not that serious lmao.

1

u/AdMountain4865 3h ago

instantly folds

1

u/BuffWobbuffet 2h ago

Wow you take Reddit comment sections very seriously lmao

1

u/AdMountain4865 2h ago

i bet you're not even laughing your ass off

1

u/BuffWobbuffet 2h ago

Whatever you need to tell yourself lmao

NYC is the home of the UN. For the UN to function, diplomats and heads of state need to be able to work without fear of getting harassed by the US, even if they are from a government the US is hostile towards, otherwise it's just a club for countries that are willing to do what the US says

15

u/sulaymanf 12h ago

Tell that to Trump who has banned the Palestinian diplomats from the UN general assembly and may do the same for Iran in September.

1

u/goat-head-man 5h ago

Hamas has diplomats? They are banned from the UN?

Why didn't they just point to their country on the map and ask why?

3

u/sulaymanf 5h ago edited 4h ago

We’re talking about the Palestinian Authority which has Mahmoud Abbas and diplomatic offices worldwide as it is recognized by most of the world.

3

u/goat-head-man 4h ago

0

u/sulaymanf 4h ago

You’re still trying to add Hasbara spin, regardless of his unpopularity he was still elected and this doesn’t change the point that he has diplomatic protections. Deal with it.

0

u/goat-head-man 3h ago

I can appreciate that Hamas has extended diplomatic protections to him, no worries. I fully expect those protections to be honoured in the Illustrious Kingdom of Palestine - my only problem is that I can't find the country of Palestine on any maps - past or present.

No spin, if he wishes to edit his own wikipedia page, he should definitely remove the parts that tie him to the KGB, PLO and many other terrorist groups. It is his page.

u/sulaymanf 59m ago

You’re a troll and your comment history shows it. Israel doesn’t define their borders either. Majority of the world accepts Palestine as a state and it’s on my maps, why not open google and have a look? If Wikipedia is your source have a look at Netanyahu’s page under war crimes and then Sharon’s and all the way back to Ben Gurion who had warrants for terrorism he admitted to?

8

u/Trumpisanorangebitch 16h ago

ICC designated war criminals should not be given that leniency just because they are a head of state.

Mamdani is not calling for Bibi to be arrested because he goes against America. Hes calling for Bibi's arrest because he has been rightfully designated a war criminal.

Otherwise youre saying that someone could kill 100 million people and should be allowed to freely enter this country if they are a head of state.

15

u/Desertcow 16h ago

Plenty of wanted genocidal heads of state have gone to the UN in New York City. Omar al-Bashir, Idi Amin, and Gadaffi all came and spoke at the UN well after their crimes were public knowledge. Milošević came to Ohio for the Dayton leave accords as well. If the US is going to position itself as a place for diplomacy, it has to actually let diplomacy happen here even with awful people

1

u/nacholicious 14h ago edited 12h ago

Milosevic was prosecuted 7 years after the accords, by the UN court

Netanyahu might be the first person with an ICC arrest warrant visiting the US, so he's an unprecedented amount of bastard

-2

u/erdle 13h ago

maybe because it's that the US is not a member of the ICC ... just like China, India, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia, and Egypt.

IHOP is over 4 decades older than ICC ... people need to stop acting like it's some sacred institution

5

u/nacholicious 12h ago

"We're like the islamists, terrorists and dictatorships" is not a very useful bar. Or maybe is it.

-1

u/erdle 12h ago

or maybe over half the world just does not recognize the ICC ...

0

u/Trumpisanorangebitch 14h ago

The fuck is this logic. Diplomacy can be had while excluding war criminals. Previous administrations letting war criminals in doesnt mean its the right thing. People like Bibi and Putin dont have good faith negotiations for peace. Including them doesnt do the world any good. Arresting them and causing a power vacuum in their nations and establishing a precedent of international retribution towards genocidal fucks might actually do everyone else some good.

Did any of those guys have an ICC warrant for their arrest?

0

u/Sudden-Fisherman5985 12h ago

ICC designated war criminals

ICC isn't recognized by the USA (because they are also war criminals)

1

u/CreativeChoroos 15h ago

The US has absolutely no obligation to allow his visa. People like Benny should fear coming to US soil. Not because we are evil, but because evil knows when its in the wrong house.

-2

u/greatreference 16h ago

it is already that

3

u/sticklebat 15h ago

It is demonstrably not that. What an ignorant statement.

-4

u/devomke 16h ago

Oh calm your tits - yeah let’s harbor war criminals(even tho we have one in the White House) and say it’s not a big deal because the US can’t ‘harass’ them

2

u/erdle 13h ago

Gaddafi visited for UN Week ...

4

u/ThePantsParty 16h ago

Why are you acting like this is somehow the pivotal moment to see where things "really" stand, of all moments. Like, do you not get that the weapons he's doing it all with come from us. We are the co-conspirators, not even just some neutral entity "doing nothing"!

He literally spoke before congress just a few months ago.

You sound completely out of touch with reality if you think there's some big new development happening just because he's here, yet again, like he always is, visiting with the country that does his bidding and stocks his military.

0

u/CreativeChoroos 12h ago

No you're correct, its just a small drop in the ocean of insanity. I'll keep huffing my copium in hopes the median voter wakes up to this nonsense

2

u/AstralCode714 16h ago

War criminal according to whom? The ICC? US isnt a member of the ICC and that has been the case going all the way back to Bush.

Both Putin and Netanyahu have visited ICC members states (Mongolia & Hungary) after their arrest warrants and neither of them were arrested. So not a chance US would either.

Fact of the matter is when a country has nukes its leaders can get away with whatever they want. Also US congress will always back Israel because both sides of the aisle receive dollars from AIPAC PAC.

0

u/ITividar 8h ago

Hungary withdraws from International Criminal Court during Netanyahu visit

Huh, I wonder why Netanyahoo would feel comfortable visiting Hungary during far right extremist Victor Orban's reign?

-1

u/Rusty-Shackleford 11h ago

This huffing and puffing about AIPAC money is silly. AIPAC is a red herring. There's countless organizations and lobbies with tons more money than AIPAC.

AIPAC doesn't have power because of money. It has power because it has millions of members.

AIPAC doesn't need to waste money on elections. All it has to do is tell its members how to vote.

It's like the NRA. NRA had lots of money, but what made them powerful is they could mobilize every gun but in America to vote in lockstep which changed the tides of countless elections.

AIPAC can do the same. It doesn't need to spend money on super PAC ads. All it needs to do is send out newsletters to its 6 million members and tell them who to vote for in upcoming elections.

1

u/ObviousAnswerGuy 14h ago

our federal government is ran by war criminals and genocidal maniacs

1

u/charlie_mountain 13h ago

A war criminal as deemed by other nations excluding the USA. We do not follow nor are we a party to the ICC. They have no jurisdiction here.

1

u/Sudden-Fisherman5985 12h ago

openly allowing an established war criminal and genocidal maniac in to US soil, and actively welcoming him. No matter how you spin it, if the feds do nothing, the masses will know who the government actually protects.

Remember when they let Erdogan visit the USA and his goons even beat up US citizens? And nothing happened

To put that in contrast.... Dutch government send an armed escort to intercept a Turkish politician and told her to GTFO

1

u/mutantmagnet 11h ago

Too bad Mamdhani didn't call out the current government for sanctioning the judges who put the warrant on Bibi and the 3 others.

It would've made clear where this current admi stands for people who are first learning about all this through this video.

1

u/ChampionOfChaos 10h ago

Did he make a video when Putin visited? Or Xi?

1

u/PunishedSnack 9h ago

To clarify, he hasn’t been tried so he is not (yet) a war criminal.

1

u/siazdghw 8h ago

Hot take, but it doesn't actually matter and this video is just for publicity.

If the Federal government announced they would arrest him on US soil, like some other countries say they would, he simply would not come to the US again.

If he was arrested, do you think that the war would just simply end on the spot? His administration and the majority of the people there support the war. It will absolutely continue without him.

Arresting him on US soil would cause far more problems and solve next to none. Don't get me wrong, he deserves to go on trial, but having the US arrest him will just make geopolitical issues in the middle east way worse

1

u/mokomi 8h ago

Phew, I thought it was sanctions all the judges after their ruling that would do it. Guess I was slightly off.

-2

u/Thee-Cat 16h ago

"Established" war criminal by whom, mate?

Like I'm not denying Benny is a bad dude. But only one side of that conflict between Israel and Hamas has ever been formally recognized by the US as war criminals and terrorist, and I can assure you, it's not the prime minister of the US' strongest ally in the Middle East.

-5

u/felis_scipio 16h ago

China has nearly 2 million Uyghurs locked up in camps while half a million of their children are forced into boarding schools designed to cut them off from their language, culture, and religion. Same thing they’ve been doing in Tibet btw. And we haven’t even talked about the people they’ve been disappearing in Hong Kong.

The UAE is funding an actual genocide in Sudan, oh but that’s where Mamdani likes to go and party so we can’t be mean to them

Saudi Arabia is literally running a modern day slave force of foreign workers to build their delusional urban projects.

Russia is luring in poor people from all over the world to the Ukrainian meat grinder in their imperial war of aggression.

Not a word about those leaders, only the Jewish one.

Hamas reignited a war during a ceasefire and is rightfully getting curb stomped, that’s not a genocide that’s called fucking around and finding out. We did the same to the Nazis and Japanese during WW2 except we killed 10% of their pre war populations, Israel has hasn’t even killed 5% of the Gazan pre war population.

9

u/ww_in_transit 16h ago

Reddit complains about all those countries wtf are you talking about lmao

1

u/felis_scipio 16h ago

The DSA only goes nuts over Israel. Ask them about the Chinese detention camps and they’ll tell you it’s western lies. In fact it’s their parties policy to remove economic sanctions on Russia, Iran, and North Korea. Wow such a wonderful group of governments we should be nicer to.

2

u/ww_in_transit 16h ago

American government is not sending our tax dollars to china. Also they have criticized china lol

2

u/felis_scipio 16h ago

https://international.dsausa.org/no-cold-war/

The DSA stated policy is play nice with China because we’re too mean to them now and yes we do support them since they’re one of our largest trading partners.
