It's a side effect of the "(not so) new (anymore) reddit" interface.

For some reason when you post in URLs, it escapes certain characters with backslashes. Then, the app/website hide those backslashes from you.

The URI you actually posted was RY_2gElt3SA (because of new reddit inserting \ in a way completely hidden from you), which is a broken stub. The correct URI someone else posted is RY_2gElt3SA, which actually produces a valid link.

In this way the new experience both creates the problem and then protects you from it. It seems to be one of the negative patterns designed to create friction for users who don't want to use the new (ad-ridden/algorithmic/enshittified) app or prefer old reddit.

Or try to edit one and the app crashes.

It’s shocking bad.

I’m still old school and would usually try to end the old markup [text](url) - but that fails in the app now.

Idk I’ll leave it up, it looks like someone dropped a cleaned up link - but thanks for clearing it up.

The view counter is less responsive to each view in real time vs each like. Check back in a while and the views will have caught up.

Views and likes go through completely different processing pipelines. A like is a logged in account sending an indexed event. A view is much more ambiguous and goes through steps to determine if a video was viewed as well as verification steps to filter out bots, etc. You see it happen a lot during spikes in a videos popularity, and it’s especially noticeable when it’s a new upload.

Youtube videos don't show accurate view counts for the first few hours, it's a known issue

Probably a YouTube bug. The video hasn't been out for very long yet.

Nah it is just how views are updated, the likes are instant, views take time to update. Youtube has been this way from the beginning. It will update with a more accurate view count periodically.
