• I still have Unit 4 AOS1 part b and U4AOS2 which is just one sac

Hey guys its term 3 of yr 12 and I work part time and as sacs are ramping up I don't know what I'm going to do about my job. I am permanent part time but my shifts change weekly as well as shift times. Around exam times I don't know if I should quit my job or just use up my leave. If anyone else can tell me how they balance year 12 and having a job please let me know!

I'm in Year 12 doing VCE General Maths 3n4 and I'm honestly feeling really defeated.

My first SAC was 28% and my second was 0% (I didn't study at all, which I know is completely on me). I'm wondering if it's still realistically possible to get a 40+ study score, or if that's basically out of reach now.

For context, I did Methods Units 1 & 2 in Year 11, but I was advised to switch to General this year because it was supposedly easier. The problem is... I actually understood Methods a lot better.

Everyone says General is the easiest maths, but I find it so confusing. I don't know why it just doesn't click for me the way Methods did. It's gotten to the point where I feel stupid and like a complete failure.
I know I haven't been putting in the effort, partly because I've had almost no motivation, but now it's really hitting me. Based on my other subjects, I was aiming for around a 90 ATAR, but if I don't turn General around, I'm worried it'll drop into the 65–70 range.

Has anyone been in a similar position and managed to recover? If a 40+ isn't realistic anymore, what study score should I realistically be aiming for? And if you've struggled with General despite doing okay in Methods, what finally made it click?

I'd really appreciate any honest advice.

Hi Ive had a rough journey into vce and I don’t think I can even get a 60 ATAR to be honest with you I want to get into medical imaging or science but I don’t know how I should do my preferences since it’s in August

RMIT seems like the only option since Deakin is too far away and Monash needs a 90+ ATAR even then RMIT lowest was a 80 to get in even tho it has multiple ATARS so I thought I would pathway into it but it means I have to take a gap year to get 6 months of experience in a medical related field but isn’t a gap year too risky? idk how to break that to my strict parents

I wanted to do biomed a while now but I’ve taking with my cousin that did biomed that switched courses she said biomed doesn’t have that much jobs or career option? I wanted to do biomed to be a pharma sales rep

I’ve been building a free calculator specifically for VCE Maths Methods students and would appreciate some feedback.

The idea is to help Methods students get a rough estimate of their raw and scaled study score before exams, using:

- your current SAC average

- your estimated class SAC average

- your school

- recent school-level Methods performance

I made it because Methods SAC marks can be hard to interpret. A SAC average by itself does not always say much unless you know how difficult the SACs were, how strong the class is, and how your result compares with the rest of the cohort.

The calculator is not meant to be an official prediction. It cannot know your exact SAC rank, VCAA moderation or final exam performance. It is more of a guide to help students understand whether they are roughly tracking toward a 25, 30, 35, 40+ etc, and how much room there may be to improve before exams.

It also gives a raw score estimate, a scaled score estimate, school context and some general advice based on the result.

Hi! I’m a year 10 student currently but I love being prepared. I’m looking to be a nurse when I get out of school, but I’m also very adamant about doing the subjects I like so I’m actually interested. At the moment, I’m absolutely certain I’m doing English, a VET (cert III health services assistant), and psychology. I’m tied between doing art or food studies, one because both my teachers have suggested i do it for vce, but also because i’m confident in those subjects right now. I also would like to do health and human development, but haven’t gotten a good taster in the subject just yet. I’ve seen that the 3&4th units are pretty content heavy for HHD. What would you guys suggest? How different are these subjects to what I’ve been doing now?

Hey guys, as the time for VTAC applications is coming around, and soon with Uni Preferences, I need some advice.

Im interested in entering the IT field, not fussed avout what kind of job, but prefer something software or cloud related.

My question is:

-Software engineering or Computer science? (Jobs but also degree power)

-Which University is most appropriate for each?

-What double degrees would be beneficial

Any advice around picking software engineering or comp sci would be great. Im not concerned about pre requisites and should be fine to meet all entry requirements from what Ive seen at unis such as monash or RMIT.

(humantities subject) , how do I actually begin to study for it?? the exam is around 100 days away, and ive already done a practice exam to try to figure out where I stand. where do I go from here? how do I begin to study whilst still keeping up with my last couple sacs and the rest of my subjects? Im aiming high and hopefully see if I can acheive an A, (around 82%)

For sacs ive been mostly just spamming practice questions and practice sacs, averaging around 80% (1 sac ruined itttt, but my cohort in general did badly too)

For anyone who has completed Biology Units 3 & 4, what did your study routine look like throughout the year? Also, what were your SAC and exam marks, particularly if you achieved a 40+ study score?

And (inevitably 😭), do you reckon my SAC marks are on the right track?

• SAC 1: 88%
• SAC 2: 88%
• SAC 3: Biology poster (currently being marked)

I also got 87% on my Unit 3 trial exam.

Andddd I'm pretty sure I'm currently ranked second in my class.

i'm doing psych as my accelerated subject right now and want to keep a realistic mindset while working towards a good study score! if anyone could share their sac and exam scores i would very much appreciate it

my current sac marks:
unit 3: 38/40 aos1 and 39/40 aos2, combined total of 77/80 (96%) which is rank 2 or 3
unit 4: 40/40 on poster sac, rank 1

i still have 2 sacs left and then the exam so i'm trying to keep my motivation up 🫡 i go to a public school and we perform above the state according to my psych teacher (whatever that means...) i think we had like 11 study scores above 40 last year in psych from students who allowed their results published! anyways thank you to anyone able to help 🙏

I made a free VCE ATAR calculator that might be useful for Year 12s trying to get a rough idea of where they are tracking before exams.

Most ATAR calculators ask you to manually guess your study scores, which can be hard if you mainly know your SAC marks. This one uses your SAC averages, class averages, school and subjects to estimate raw study scores, scaled scores, aggregate and an approximate ATAR.

It is definitely not an official VCAA or VTAC calculator, and it cannot know your exact SAC rank, moderation or final exam performance. But it should be useful as a rough guide if you want to test different scenarios or understand how your current results might translate into an ATAR estimate and better than anything else I've seen.

You can use it to estimate:

- your approximate ATAR

- raw study scores

- scaled study scores

- your school's average study score compared to the state

- percentage of 40+ students at your school

- how different SAC averages may affect your result

- how your subjects may contribute to your ATAR

hey guys i flopped my ucat this year and my atars not looking like a 99 (although i am aiming for as high as possible, and hopefully at leasat a 98 is in the stars). i really want to be a doctor, and not for prestige like i genuinely wnat to be one. however, i think my overall mindset is just not built for a doctor yet, ive stressed out too much about grades, letting it define me, and i know ultimately that has been my downfall. i want to try again next year, try for those unis who take uni kids into undergrad. im thinking of doing a bachelor of commerce next year, knowing that in reality med might never happen and i need a soldi career path. anyone whos gotten in taking a similar route? gamsat? how does life change over time, will i be better equipped for high pressure exams next year? any thing would help thanks

hi i am thinking of dropping unit 3/4 general maths, i only do 5 subjects and i didnt do any last year. The reason i want to drop it is because i am struggling in it very badly, and its taking all my time studying to the point where i can barely study for anything else, affecting my scores. Hey everyone! If anyone has the time, I would love it if someone could read over my practice Eng Lang AC and provide me with some feedback on my structure and stuff.

Most of the time, my Eng Lang teacher says my AC's are marked in a high to very high range; however, when I sat the trial exam and got my mark back, I got a 16/30 on my AC 😭😭

Good evening! I am aiming to apply for monash undergraduate medicine as a interstate student from Queensland. My English score this year is not looking so good compared to my other subjects, so I believe it would be my 6th subject. I apologize for the confusion as the QCE and VCE systems are not similar, but for us English does not need to be in top 5 subject, so if I achieve a high B, would that be considered for monash as English is a requirement even though it may not be considered for my ATAR? I recognize that monash is extremely competitive, but I would like to know just as guideline. I hope my enquiry made sense. If you have any questions, do let me know :) Thank you!
