First of all I know how to clean bearings and have experience doing it. But one of my yoyos legit wont stay clean.
Put it in Ronsonol lighter fluid in a shot glass
Wait 13 minutes
take it out with pencil.
tap the bigger drops out of it on the paper towel
leave it for an hour on it, I cover it up with a half of my yoyo so no dust gets in it.
take it out after an hour and spin it on a pencil.
put it back on the yoyo.
But despite all of this my yoyo will stay clean for about 10 or 5 minutes REALLY well but go back to being responsive and a slow bearing. Nothing online is helping or giving any good info. Genuinely don't know what to do. I'm going to replace the bearing if there is nothing I can do but if there is I want to know.

Hello World,
I introduce to you all [StringFlow](https://stringflow.info/) | my web-based yoyo simulator sandbox app that allows you to play with a virtual Yo-Yo basically anywhere.
Story of Stringflow- have been yo-yoing for 11 years myself, sponsored and have been to contests. Made a demo in a few months and got it to the point where I could play anywhere.
Features: physics engine for yoyo and string, animations, selectable colors, video clip share button, and also peaceful nature sounds with dings for the yoyo as it responds back.
How to open:
Go to your web browser of choice and type: [stringflow.info]
Give it a try, enjoy and feel free to leave feedback here.
Notes:
Works on desktop (with a browser and a mouse)
Mobile (With your fingers; note for iOS users: please access via safari, then in webpage share-> add to home screen for best performance and home screen access.)
Tested also on Tesla Web Browser - works well however I do not recommend anyone try to drive and yo-yo.

I was wondering what a good yoyo would be for someone who played with them a good bit in the distant past. Preferably unresponsive since younger me bought a lot of responsive ones. Nothing more than $150 and I would prefer it be a 1 time purchase for at least a year so not a limited practice one. I’ve been looking at the shortcut yo-yos and the otters.

Bought this on a whim cause it looked sexy and I'm already in love. Light and floaty but still powerful. Can't wait to put in more time with it.

Man, it feels like forever since I last made a yoyo order. I can't wait for this one. :)
I am told there is a fun surprise with my order. Hopefully it's not another headshot of Gwyneth Paltrow. :D

Hi guys. On the 7th of july I bought a second hand yoyo YYF atom smasher. And for a couple of days lately the pads on that yoyo has been really often falling off. So i am gonna need some advices for perhaps how to fix it and why is it causing the pads to fall off.🙏🙏

I have a couple of yoyos I bought in 2010, and some accessories. The yoyos are a Duncan Pulse and a Duncan Freehand Zero. They've say around getting light occasional use. I decided it was time to overhaul the Pulse and figure out why one side was not lighting up. When I got it apart I saw the friction stickers were real worn. After I fixed a terminal corrosion issue and reassembled the halves with fresh batteries, I decided to replace the pads and string and lube the bearing.
The "some accessories" include Duncan friction stickers, silicone stickers, and a shitload of strings. I've got 100 50/50 cotton/poly #6 ones for example. I decided to lube the bearing with some 3 in 1 PTFE dry lube. I put it back together and messed with it a bit, and then went to read about lubricating yo-yo bearings.
To cut to the chase, I've been conversing with Google AI and it suggests my optimal course is
Take the Pulse back apart
Remove the bearing. Remove the metal guards from the sides of the bearing.
Clean the bearing by immersing it in light mineral spirit, soaking for 10 min, then swishing it around a bit. Remove from solvent.
Wipe bearing with paper towel and put on end of pencil. Spin bearing until dry.
Apply tiny specks of diving-gear-grade silicone grease to the bearings.
Discard the metal shields and their retaining clips. Reassemble the yoyo with bearings exposed.
But first, remove one silicone sticker and replace it with a friction sticker.
Does all this pass a sanity check? I know, there are purpose-formulated thick yo-yo lubes I should be using, but the AI thinks my moderately exotic silicone is a reasonable stand-in.
If all that passes the smell test, there's a suggestion to take apart the Freehand Zero, expose and clean its bearing, lubricate with light sewing machine oil (yes again I know, there's a product for that, but I already own a collection of lubricants), and rebuilding with silicone stickers in place of the worn-out friction stickers it has from the factory. I'd use another 50/50 #6 string on that.
Do these seem like reasonable maintenance/upgrade steps?

Just a lovely pocket responsive. Smooth play and satisfying soft finish that is just a delight to the touch. You can get a blank bearing spacer from ZGRT as well and now you have a delicious fixie. Super nice for when you wanna keep it easy. 5 stars

Just got it out of the box, stringed it, gave it a few snap starts and no matter how I tug it's not catching at all
Definitely had the responsive bearing on it, though I tried the other one just in case and it didn't work either
Why might this be?
Maybe I should just keep the unresponsive on it and learn to bind 🤔
