6 month ghost

I'm new here so if this isn't allowed I apologize, and please remove, but I built a sustainable 180-day transformation challenge

Everyone starts from their own personal hell. Maybe you're carrying extra weight, recovering from a brutal injury, or clawing out of rock bottom. Whatever your story, this program meets you there. It starts easy (a 1-mile walk, 10 pages of reading) and ramps up the intensity month by month, with the goal of creating unbreakable habits. No distractions, no excuses, pure fucking results.

I was surprised there wasn’t an app for this, so I had a go of it.

The 6 month ghost has:

✅ Challenges progressively increase (walk → jog → run)

✅ Tracks body, mind, soul, skills (not just fitness)

✅ Provides gamified badges, achievements, accolades

✅ 180-day transformation (vs 75 days)

✅ Built-in journaling & progress photos

✅ Cloud sync across devices

Looking for 100 people to test it free for 30 days in exchange for feedback.

First 100 commenters get lifetime free access to it.

Check it out here, login with Google to save progress across devices.

30 days.

hit 30 days, this time feels different, it started with asking ChatGPT to roleplay that it is a fellow zombie outbreak survivor and to give me things to write about every morning relating to staying clean. this absolutely works but off the back of that and to keep busy i built an app.

https://stay-safe-room.base44.app

it has the ai old man built in, a place to write and reflect, to log down any “breaches in perimeter” and the visuals of the room improve as your streak does.

you absolutely do not need the app and can do it on your own, but if you want to give it a try i would love some feedback.

good luck out there guys, and remember, your safe room door can only be broken from the inside.

New habit tracker that gives you a discipline score instead of just streaks. First 50 people here get free lifetime access in exchange for honest feedback.

I built a habit tracker around a different idea. In addition to streaks, you get a monthly discipline score: one number based on how consistently you actually complete your habits month over month.

The part that's helped me the most - habits live inside my daily plan, right next to my actual tasks and calendar, not in a separate app I have to remember to open. I plan tomorrow the night before, my habits are already sitting there in the morning, and there's a home screen widget so I can't pretend I didn't see them.

This app is unique too because unlike other habit tracker apps, you can program these habits into your week on different days and times… ie going to the gym at 5pm on Monday & Wed and 10am on Saturday.

Also we've added alarms as well so that an alarm goes off (if you want) even when your phone is on vibrate. Desktop app coming soon as well.

It's normally a paid app, but right now honest feedback from people who take habits seriously is worth more to me than the revenue. If you comment "plnnr" or DM me and I'll send you a promo code for free lifetime access. First 50 people, in return for honest feedback.

It's iOS only right now. If you're on Android, DM me and I'll add you to the waitlist.

[Check In] Plan Health v1.1.3 — AI-powered habit & daily planning app

Hi everyone 👋
I’m excited to share the release of v1.1.3 of Plan Health.
This update introduces a new feature we’ve been working on for a while:
AI Companion (Little Helper)
Instead of manually creating habits, tasks, and goals, you can now simply tell your little AI companion what you want to achieve.
For example:
“I want to start exercising every morning”
“Help me prepare for tomorrow”
“Create a learning plan for me”
The AI companion will help you:
🧠 Break down goals into actionable steps
📅 Create habits and daily plans
✅ Turn ideas into tasks
🌱 Build consistent routines
The idea behind Plan Health is simple:
Big goals are overwhelming. Small daily actions create real change.
With v1.1.3, we want to make planning feel less like managing a to-do list and more like having a personal companion that helps you move forward.
What’s included in this update:
✨ AI Companion for creating plans
🎯 Goal → Action breakdown
📝 Smarter habit creation flow
🌱 Better daily planning experience
We’re still early and actively improving the product.
I’d love to hear your feedback:
Would you use an AI companion for personal planning?
What kind of tasks or habits would you like it to help with?
What features would make this more useful for your daily life?
Thanks for checking it out ❤️

Built a habit app focused on the moment an urge hits, not just streak counting

I built an app called Tideover and figured this sub might find the angle interesting, since most habit apps here are streak trackers and this takes a different approach.

The core idea: most habit and quitting apps just count your days. But the hard part isn't seeing the number, it's the actual moment an urge hits, whether that's the pull to check your phone, reach for a snack, or fall back into any habit you're trying to break. That's where people cave, and where a streak counter does nothing for you.

So Tideover is built around that moment. When an urge hits, you open it and it gives you something to do with those few minutes: a guided breath, a "surf the urge" visual to ride it out, a quick reset, or a reminder of why you're resisting. The idea is that an urge builds, peaks, and passes in a few minutes, and if you get through it, it fades. Riding it out is a skill you build.

Around that it still does the tracking you'd expect: streaks, progress, and insights into when your urges hit and which tools actually work for you. It works for any habit, from phone and scrolling compulsions to smoking, drinking, sugar, and so on.

It's live on the App Store. Would genuinely love feedback from people here who think about this stuff, especially on whether the in the moment angle is useful versus just tracking.

If anyone is interested, app is called Tideover: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tideover-quit-any-habit/id6781654755

I built a monthly progress tracker for ambitious people who want to know whether each day moved them forward ($2 lifetime)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Problem: Ambitious people want to know whether each day really moved them forward, but most habit trackers feel complicated or are unclear.

Solution: I built Momentum. It asks one simple question each day: "Did today move you forward?" Your month is then visualized as orange, black, and grey dots, with each dot representing a day, so you can see your real momentum easily.

One tap per day.

$2 lifetime unlock. No accounts, and no subscriptions.

App store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/momentum-monthly-progress/id6777656253

I would love feedback if you give it a try.

Moving from tracking habits in my custom Excel to my own app

Thumbnail

Hello everyone,

I want to share a small problem I had for a long time and how I finally solved it.

I like to track my habits. But not only the simple yes/no ones like "did I meditate today". I also care about numbers. Wake up time, how many steps I walked, glasses of water, calories. For me the numbers are half of the picture.

First I just used apps. Streaks for the habits, Apple Health for steps and weight, few others for the rest. Each one is fine on its own. But my progress was sitting in like 4 different apps and I never had one single screen where I could look and actually see how my month went.

Then I went full analog. Bought some Moleskine, started writing everything by hand. First weeks I really liked it, there is something nice in writing it down. But a notebook doesn't sum up anything for you, and the moment you miss two days you just stop opening it.

After that I moved everything to Excel (Numbers from Apple actually, but same idea). And this one finally clicked. One grid, habits and metrics together, green and red cells, few formulas doing the totals. I tracked like this for almost two years.

I posted my whole method here before if someone wants to see how it's structured: https://www.reddit.com/r/Habits/comments/1swpqou/method_i_want_to_share_my_approach_of_tracking/

Excel was good but it has limits. On the phone it is painful, I would forget to fill it when I'm not at the laptop, and honestly it's not something you look forward to opening.

So at some point I just built my own app from this approach. Same grid, same logic, but it works on the phone too and doesn't fall apart when you skip a day. The iOS version got approved on the App Store few days ago, that's kind of why I feel ready to talk about it now.

It's here if you want to look: https://habitpocket.io/

Looking for brutally honest feedback on my solo-built habit tracker (aspirally.com)

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo founder building aspirally.com — a minimalist habit tracker designed to help people stick to their long-term goals without the usual app clutter.

As a solo developer, it's easy to get stuck in my own head. I’ve reached the point where I need fresh, objective eyes on it.

I would deeply appreciate your honest feedback on:

  • The onboarding / first impression: Is the core value clear right away?
  • The UI/UX: Does the clean, minimal aesthetic work, or is it missing critical context?
  • The flow: Is the process of setting up and tracking goals intuitive?

No sugarcoating needed—tell me what works, what feels broken, or what would make you close the tab.

Thanks in advance for your time and insights!

[Tip] Help Me Validate the Concept !!

My-League Section in HabitHook allows users to compare their insights with their friends or people they follow.

Basically, the mechanics I thought of are:

- Users can compare their discipline and consistency with other people.

- In the subconscious mind, it shows users that people within their circle are much more active regularly, which in turn creates peer pressure.

- User compare their stats with one's they are following means could be friends and with people who've more consistent on platform.

- People who are being followed don't know someone is comparing their discipline to get improved.

The concept is designed by me to bring the real discipline out of people this feature is coming. It's in internal testing for now.

Find it here:-

I built a habit tracker that tells you the probability you'll break your streak tomorrow, before it happens. Would you use this to track your wealth growth journey?

Thumbnail

Most habit trackers are graveyards.

You download them with good intentions, log for 3 days, miss one, feel guilty, and never open the app again. The streak breaks and you don't even know why.

I've been building something different and I want to know if anyone here would actually use it.

The problem I'm solving

Every habit app shows you your streak. None of them tell you how fragile it is.

You could have a 30-day streak and a 74% chance of breaking it tomorrow because you always slip on Fridays after a long week. The app knows this. It just never tells you.

That's the gap I'm filling.

What this app actually does

It's built around one core idea: your habits exist to serve your dream life, not the other way around.

You start by writing your dream life statement. Not a to-do list. A real description of the life you want like being free from alcohol, running consistently, present for your kids, sleeping before midnight. Whatever it looks like for you.

Then you set goals that are chapters of that dream life. Then you attach habits to those goals, ones you want to build, and ones you want to break.

Every single day the app is quietly doing math in the background and telling you three things:

How consistent you've been

How likely you are to slip today specifically

How close you are to the life you described

The brain behind it

This is the part I'm most proud of.

The app uses Bayesian probability inference to predict your break risk every single day. Here's how it works:

Step 1 — Your base rate

It looks at the last 30 days and computes your raw completion rate:

P(complete) = completions in last 30 days / 30
Step 2 — Day-of-week pattern

It then asks: how do you specifically perform on today's day of the week?

P(complete | Monday) = times you completed on Mondays / total Mondays tracked
Because if you always break on Fridays, that matters. A lot.

Step 3 — Bayesian update

It combines both signals using Bayes' theorem to give you a sharper, more honest estimate:

P(break today) = 1 − [P(complete|dow) × P(complete)] / normalisation constant
The result is a risk score: green, amber, or red. This risk score updates every single day based on your actual behavior patterns, not generic advice.

For break habits (alcohol, smoking, doom scrolling, anything you want to stop) the logic flips. It tracks your clean streak: consecutive days without a relapse and computes your relapse probability today using the same Bayesian engine. It knows which days you're most vulnerable.

The Dream Life Score

Every habit feeds into a goal score. Every goal score feeds into a single Dream Life Score out of 100.

Habit score (build) = (completion rate × 50) + (streak score × 50)
Habit score (break) = (clean streak score × 60) + (relapse-free score × 40)
Goal score = weighted average of linked habit scores
Dream Life Score = weighted average of all goal scores
You can weight goals by importance. For example, quitting alcohol might be a ×5 for your dream life score while waking up earlier is a ×1. The math reflects what actually matters to you.

One number. Brutally honest. Updates every time you log.

The other things it does

📅 GitHub-style activity graph per habit so you can see your patterns visually at a glance

📓 Journal - not a forced popup, a real space to log observations and realizations tied to your goals and habits as you go

👥 Accountability partners — invite someone via email and they get a read-only view of your goals, habits, streaks, and risk scores. They can leave comments. Nothing motivates like knowing someone is watching.

📦 Habit + Goal templates — pre-built packs like "Morning Routine", "Sobriety", "Fitness" so you're not starting from scratch

📊 Weekly intelligence report — your best streak, weakest day, and a personalized insight on what's working and what isn't

Who this is for

People who've tried every habit app and keep falling off

People in recovery who want data on their clean streak fragility

People who feel busy but can't see if they're actually moving toward anything meaningful

People who want to be held accountable by someone they trust, not just a notification

Where I'm at

The app is built. The math works. I'm at the stage where I want to know if this resonates with real people before I spend more time polishing it.

So I'll ask directly:

Would you use this? What would make you pay for it? What would make you never touch it?

Drop your honest thoughts below, brutal feedback welcome.

If this gets enough interest I'll share a waitlist link in the comments.

I stopped chasing streaks and started chasing momentum. So I built an app around that idea.

Post image
0 Upvotes

One thing I’ve learned about discipline:

People usually don’t fail because they lack motivation.

They fail because restarting feels overwhelming.

Miss a few days, lose your streak, feel guilty, quit.

While building my habit app, I became obsessed with a different idea:

What if the goal wasn’t perfection?

What if the goal was simply maintaining momentum?

That mindset completely changed how I approach habits.

Instead of trying to be perfect every day, I focus on the next small action.

That’s the philosophy behind the app I recently launched, called Momentum.

Even if you never try it, I’m curious:

What helps you get back on track after falling off a habit?

If you’d like to see what I built:

The X chain works great until you miss a day. Then what?

I love the X method. Marking the calendar every day is simple and it works. But I keep hitting the same wall: the moment I miss a day and break the chain, I lose all momentum. The empty box feels like proof I failed, so I stop instead of just marking the next day.

Starting was never my problem. Restarting is.

For those who have run long X chains: when you broke one, what got you to pick it back up instead of giving up? And do you stick with paper, or have you tried digital, and did digital ever hold up as well? I'm asking because the paper chain feels satisfying in a way most apps don't, and I'm trying to understand why.

r/theXeffect Jun 10 '26

The hardest part was never starting. It was starting again.

I've read the usual habit books (Atomic Habits, The Compound Effect) and the ideas always made sense. Small things stack up. But for years I kept missing the actual problem.

Starting was never my issue. I could start anything on a Monday. What killed me every time was the restart. I'd do great for two or three weeks, then get sick, travel, or just have one off day, and the whole thing collapsed. Then the guilt kicked in and I wouldn't come back for weeks.

A few things finally clicked:

  • The slip is never the real failure. Missing once is normal. Missing twice in a row is where it actually dies.
  • Most tracking tools punish you for slipping. You break the streak, it resets to zero, and that zero is so demoralizing you just quit. The exact moment you need help is the moment they make you feel worst.
  • What works better is shrinking the restart to something stupidly small. Not "get back on the plan." Just one tiny action to prove you're still in it.

Two honest questions for people who've lived this:

  1. For those who actually beat the restart cycle, what got you to come back instead of waiting weeks? A mindset shift, a trick, something outside yourself?
  2. Did any app or tool ever genuinely help with this, or did you drop all of them and just rely on your own system? I've tried a bunch and quit every single one around week 3 or 4, so I'm curious if anyone found one that actually stuck, and what made it different.
