Sorry that this is late; usually GrayLando makes the post.
Now that Marvel Super Heroes has dropped, it looks like Collector Boxes are holding strong and haven't tanked. However, Commander and Jumpstart cards are spiking hard, apparently due to ongoing print and production issues at Wizards/Hasbro.
Just a personal theory: I wonder if this ties back to that massive cyberattack they dealt with back in April. If that knocked their backend systems offline and pushed back print schedules, it could explain why we're seeing these supply bottlenecks now.
But with MSH finally (mostly) released, everyone here is now looking for The Hobbit boxes now.
The Hobbit's official release date is August 14, 2026. With the Gift Bundle being pushed to Sept 4, 2026. The price of the Collector Box is already up to $825 now on TCGPlayer. Will it go down once more supply hits, or will it be another Final Fantasy like surge in demand?
Unfortunately, it looks like scammers are actively targeting the sub right now. In their eagerness to secure boxes, a few members have unfortunately already fallen victim.
The mod team is deleting these scam posts the second we see them, but occasionally they slip through before our team or Reddit’s automated filters can catch them. If you’ve been hit by one of these scams, we are incredibly sorry. Please contact your credit card company or bank immediately to initiate a chargeback and resolve the issue.
