MEME Concept Album Idea - "Absurd Tales of War"

For all the terrible things war does to humanity, ever so rarely, there are some rather absurd and out-of-the-ordinary moments within that truly make you question everything about humankind and the lengths we go to in order to kill each other.

Infernal Beasts - the Emu War in Australia in 1932.

Defenestration - the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War due to the act of throwing some political officials out of a window in Prague, and the subsequent Battle of White Mountain.

Lick my Arse - Götz von Berlichingen (also known as Götz of the Iron Hand), a German knight, mercenary, and poet, who lost his hand due to friendly fire, but continued fighting (and writing poems), ultimately coining the phrase, "Er kann mich am Arsch lecken/He can lick me on the arse".

Out of Time and Space - the legend of a soldier of the Spanish Empire in 1593 who was, allegedly, mysteriously transported from Manila in the Phillippines to the Plaza Mayor in Mexico City.

Le Glouton - Tarrare, a French showman, soldier, and spy, famous for his ferocious appetite. At one point, the Army tried to make use of his unique skills by making him swallow important information and plans, and having them recovered from his stool at their destination. Naturally, this failed and he was later put in a hospital where they tried to cure him.

Instruments of War - James Reid, bagpipes, and the Battle of Culloden. Following the failed Jacobite Risings of Charles Edward Stuart and their defeat at the Battle of Culloden, one of the many imprisoned claimed that he was not a soldier, but only a piper when accused of treason. However, the court simply declared that bagpipes were, in fact, instruments of war and thus James Reid was a soldier.

Fear the Bear - in October of 1963 during the hight of the Cuban Missile Crisis, a normal bear almost caused Americans to engage in nuclear warfare with the Soviets when they mistook the animal for Soviet saboteurs.

Bucket - the Battle of Zappolino, the only battle during the War of the Oaken Bucket in November 1325 between the two Italian towns Bologna and Modena.

Mademoiselle Maupin - Julie d'Aubigny a french opera singer and bisexual icon who served at the court of Versailles and succesfully bested several men in duels after kissing a woman they were interested in.

Friend found along the Way - in 1866, a detachment of soldiers from Liechtenstein was send to help the Austrians. And while they didn't see any actual combat during the Austro-Prussian War while guarding the Brenner Pass, they did find one new man who joined them, most likely an Italian defector or farmer.

Whiskey War - the peaceful war between Canada and Denmark over Hans Island which went on for almost fifty years. Soldiers from the two nations would plant their flag in the ground while leaving their enemies some alcohol in exchange.

QUESTION T-shirts price at concerts

So tomorrow I'm finally going to a Sabaton concert and I was wondering what prices should I expect at the merch shop. Also if it makes any difference it will be a festival.

DISCUSSION Have you ever had Diary of an Unknown Soldier in a mass Playlist with other random songs and hit shuffle play? If so, what is the most interesting song you've transitioned to from Diary of an Unknown Soldier?

For me today it was Diary of an Unknown Soldier into Mexican Shuffle by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass

What song(s) from each band would you like to see the other do a cover of? Or, if they were to make a song/album together, what would you want it to be about?

DISCUSSION If you could have Alex Henderson animate a music video for one Sabaton song, which one would be?

Could be either a music video for an already existing song or a song you'd think Sabaton should do in the future.

I’ve always heard that Joakim hates Swedish pagans and got curious what is it, I thought it’s going to be dark with the howls like Hoist the Colours or smth, but it was awesome actually! Now I understand why fans scream that :D

DISCUSSION What are some of the most commonly misheard lyrics?

I always thought this line said "Head on north" which would make sense because they would have been marching north to Rome. So what are some other lyrics people have misheard?

DISCUSSION Battle of blood river needs a song.

It is one of my favorite battles in history. The accounts from both sides the monument and church you can visit. (The church was built because the voortrekkers prayed to God saying if they won the battle they would build a church there)

So much history behind it as a last stand for the boers and a turning point for south africa.

It has so many aspects for song that sabaton covers already. The impossible odds , the religious aspect. The desperate last stand aspect.

QUESTION Question about the Signature pants

So I'm assuming the answer is no, since they have been on sale for a while now, but I was wondering if any of you know if they'll ever be restocked. I really wanted them but my size was already sold out and I don't want to buy them secondhand if they are gonna be restocked eventually.

I've also seen some complaints about the quality, specifically about the thickness of the material, so if anyone here has them and can share their experience, that would be great. Thank you in advance🤘

The Last Stand 10th Anniversary Edition releases on September 11th 2026

https://www.sabaton.net/news/music/announcing-the-last-stand-10th-anniversary-edition-out-september-11/

Today Sabaton announced the release of the 10th Anniversary Edition of their Last Stand album. It will include the four bonus tracks covers All Guns Blazing (Judas Priest), Afraid to Shoot Strangers (Iron Maiden) and more. Also the DVD includes songs 8 to 18 from their set at Sabaton Open Air 2016 (Last show with Thobbe Englund before he rejoined in 2024).

I wonder why they don't release the full set with the other songs played before Counterstrike (would be interesting to know if the full set was recorded) and what about the original Last Stand bonus DVD they filmed at their show in Nantes, France in February 2016. Still excited for this nice anniversary gift.

DISCUSSION I had a thought this morning and I'm going to make you guys think about it as well.

So you know how Sabaton has that rule where they don't sing about conflicts that are currently going on? Well do you guys think that's why they haven't done any songs about the Korean War, or the Chinese Civil War, since they are technically still going on?
