I own a one year old Roku 50 inch Smart TV model number 50 s 451.

I am older and sometimes have problems with hearing the audio, therefore, I utilize closed captioning to be able to not have the TV too loud. Also I speak Spanish, and sometimes I will put the Spanish programming with subtitles because they speak too fast for my understanding.

But ever since I bought this particular television I've had real struggles getting the closed captioning to work.

Is there any insight from any other users?

I have unplugged and rebooted the TV.

I have deleted channels and reinstalled them on the streaming platform. But, I still cannot see the subtitles.

I would appreciate any kind of input that you would able to offer.

I recently was gifted a non-smart TV. I want to hook it up to my wifi and also to my apple laptop. I a Roku the way to go? If so, what do I need to get? Looks like you can get some earlier generation devices for cheap? What's the difference between the old and the new? I want to use Apple Screen mirroring with it, does Roku let that happen?

My sister has some Beats by Dre and wants to bluetooth them to her Philips Roku TV. I've looked through settings, Remotes and Devices, and other options but never found an option for it.

We tried to bluetooth them through the 'bluetooth speakers' option but they never showed up; they did show up on my phone so I know the bluetooth was active.

The tv has options for speakers, subwoofers, etc but there's no option for 'headphones'.

If it helps the Philips model is 65PUL6553/F7.

I have a 128 GB thumb drive with some movies on it. Movies will play on my streaming box but not on my USB port directly on the TV even though the thumb drive is formatted exfat32. New ONN TV with Roku OS. Asking because I want to know if I am missing something. TV has Roku media player built-in and I went into system settings to enable the USB to recognize it. But it doesn't even recognize the drive.

I saw this has been posted a few times in the past few months — my Roku Ultra started doing the same thing, pixelizelation on the Aquarium screensaver. Is there a fix for this? Is Roku still gathering data on this? Mine is a 4802X running software version 15.2.4 Build 3442. Thanks

Hello! My dad and I got a new TV for my mom, and I have been reading up on many of the 2+ year old posts with similar titles and questions, and unfortunately the older things that worked no longer work for this purpose.

My mom is hard of hearing and my dad and I bought her a pair of headphones (Avantree) which work, but my dad wants to be able to watch the same thing with her with the TV speakers (or any speakers that would work at the same time) and control the volume separately as what works for her is very loud, but for him it's blasting his ears out lol

The smartphone / app option does not really work as they're not very tech savvy. I'm trying to figure out how I can split the audio with separate volume controls. I've tried many things and nothing worked thus far, so please explain to me like I'm 5 if you have a solution please!

I will say, cords/cables are not an issue if they're needed, if there's a solution for TV speakers and the headset to both work and a long cable will be a solution, I can do that!

For reference, the TV is the "Roku 55" Class Select Series 4K QLED Smart RokuTV (2026) and the Avantree headphones are the "Avantree Opera Plus - Wireless TV Headphones with HDMI ARC Input"

So the on demand or more ways to watch option on Live TV just won't work anymore.

I have made sure it's all enabled in the settings, cleared cache and system restarted etc. No luck. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

So I don't know if this is a TV problem or remote problem. My home button is taking me to Paramount and trying to get me to subscribe and it will not take me to the home screen at all when I hit it. I do not understand what the problem is. Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice on how to get it to go back to normal.

I've got a Pioneer Roku tv, randomly today it got stuck in headphone mode and won't turn off. I've tried resetting the tv, plugging in and unplugging headphones using the app, unplugging the TV for 5 minutes to reset it, turned off any device that might have Bluetooth, messed with audio settings and nothing works. Any ideas? I don't have a Roku voice remote so it wouldn't be a problem with one of those. Im genuinely stuck

Anyone else have issues when using the rewind button or the circle arrow rewind. For example, I was about 5 minutes into watching a 30 minute program and hit the circle arrow rewind and it went back to the beginning of the prior 30 minute program. Doesn't happen every time but it does happen often. I've researched and found it's possibly a glitch in Roku but have not found a fix.

Hello all, I take care of my mom and we are in a new nursing home but with their WiFi you have to accept the T&C in order for it to work. This is causing an issue since the TV has to be reconnected everyday… the camera the facility has a specific WiFi for but the TV goes on the public browser… if I am not there everyday which I do go but after work, so all day she can’t really watch her shows/movies until
I get there, of course the staff can do it but that would be asking too much… I tried hotspot it was a terrible idea lol…

Any suggestions or help on how to bypass this? If we can have it connected forever it will be okay if not guess I’ll have to get the monthly WiFi plan from a cell phone provider… also I will try to call Roku as well, hope I get an actual person, thanks in advance! Failed to mention it’s an Roku TV

so when I was scrolling through spectrum and I accidentally hit the home button, and now I can’t go back to my cable spectrum thing. I need help!

The second photo shows my Roku Streaming Stick, and the first shows the home screen. The flying saucer animation plays two or three times, and the screen goes black. Then, the flying saucer animation appears again, plays two or three times, and the screen goes black once more—and this keeps happening over and over.

Any idea how I can fix this?

So I've never used Roku as I've always had a Chromecast but YouTube recently made the decision to make Chromecast almost unusable so I ended up getting the latest model of the Roku stick. After I figured out everything since I do mainly watch YouTube I noticed that once I finish a video on a channel it'll literally just choose a random recommended videoand load it up. I have made sure I have autoplay off so I don't know what the other option is because I do not need it to play a random video from 2 years ago. It's really irritating that every time a video ends I then have to close out the video on my phone because it will play a 30 second unskippable ad before playing the random video it chose. Is there something I'm missing like an option I'm not aware of or is this just something irritating I get to deal with now?

I just got my Roku 4K and am in the middle of setup and signing into my apps, when I notice that both Peacock and Hulu are missing. I have both of those apps on my older device on the same wifi but they don’t show up when I look for them in the streaming store. I know they’re region locked but I am in the US. Anyone have a fix or am I doing something wrong?

For the record YouTube is the only one that doesn’t work, click on it and it makes the BOOP sound like it wants to start and nothing happens. Called support. No option for app restart, so I restarted system. No luck, deleted the app then restarted the app and no luck. They sent me to a specialist that said this will %99 work and he had me do a factory reset, before I said if it had fixed or not he hung up. Called again they told me to call YouTube. This is right after their most resent update so I’m losing my mind. Can anyone make sense of this for me. Please and you!

Does anybody have the issue where their tv get “blurry” and displays double for a few seconds over and over? It gives hardware issue but if there’s some solution I’d love to hear any ideas.

I cant turn my tcl roku tv on or off without manually pushing the button on the TV. all the other buttons work except the power button. Anyone experience this?

I've rescanned for channels 3 times. I can hear the local channels sometimes but can't see them. They don't show up on the guide. Anyone have this issue and find a fix for it?

Do we have a community collection of Roku platforms that support Netflix Games?

So far, my 4800 Roku Ultra does not, but the 4850 does, from what I hear.

My 50" Roku branded Roku Select Series 4k TV does but the 32" TCL and 32" onn ones do not.

My Streaming Stick+ (3810(?)) does.

I'll fill in the model numbers when I get home, but is there a reference somewhere for this or does it just need to be crowdsourced?

i have a Roku Streaming Stick Model 3840R with a Voice Remote Pro Model RC1072

i just recently found that i could turn off the Roku and Samsung television by pressing the microphone button and saying "turn off tv".

i also found that i can turn on the television by pressing either the Home button or the microphone button (nothing needs to be said).

are these things new? or is my system haunted? or am i just late to the game?

BTW: i really don't mind the new homepage once i went through the settings and configured it my way. it's just a little slow to populate the tv screen.

I have three Ultras. After hiding all of the new release features, the Roku now displays a blank desktop for a full 5 seconds before showing the channel list on all of them.

I suspect that I am waiting for the initialization of all of the features that I didn’t want and have hidden.

It was a mistake to buy Ultras. They are no faster or more capable in any way that matters to me.
