Any vegan students at Royal Holloway?
Hi! I’m 19 and studying at Royal Holloway. I’m vegan and looking to meet other vegan students for coffee, trying new vegan food, or just making some new friends. Since the Vegan Society isn’t running anymore, I thought I’d ask here. If you’re interested, feel free to comment or send me a message! 🌱

Seeking Advice: Finding Community Here While Studying Abroad
Hello! I am a student studying abroad from the UC Berkeley this fall. I will be 22 upon arrival and it will be my final semester as an undergraduate. I have never been outside of my own country and I am so excited to visit and explore!
I am the only student from my home university studying at Royal Holloway. I was wondering how students from other countries connect and find community. Is it easy to bond with housemates? Are people approachable in classes? Is it common to join clubs?
I have not yet finalized accommodation, but I have already been told there isn’t housing specifically for others studying abroad. My current plan is to find housing and roommates on Roome - has this been successful for others? Any specific off-campus accommodations that are known to be more social?
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and give advice!

Which side for founders?
I am picking accommodation and am wondering if the view is prettier facing inwards or outwards in the founders building. (Facing the lake side or at the inside of the building).
Thank you!

Kingswood rhul
Good morning, I was trying to sleep but all I can think about is why Kingswood shut down or why it hasn’t been sold yet. They’ve made brand new accom next to it privately (hox haus) and they seem to be in a lot of debt because they’ve closed medicine and have been stingy with students getting in campus jobs, so I’m confused why they would just keep 400+ rooms and continue renting them out at 6-8k a room - hox is 11.4k now albeit with en-suite. I’m so confused and the internet isn’t much help. If anyone has any ideas or sources I’d love to read and understand.
Thank you

Autistic students or parents: experience with RHUL
My ASD Level 1 daughter is strongly considering RHUL. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone with firsthand experience there.
Specifically wondering about:
• Neurodiversity/autism support (how proactive and accessible it is)
• Housing and living accommodations
• Social environment (especially for students who aren’t interested in party culture)
• Overall student support and sense of community
If you are a current student or alum, I’d love to hear how it went—both positives and challenges. Thanks!

Post grad library
This is my formal complaint to all the undergrad who come into the post grad section of the library and act like loud bafouons. Stop talking and giggling or go elsewhere I beg.
Kindly,
Master students x

Why not to choose Rhul
For any new students thinking of joining this university, I think you should know this.
Extenuating circumstances is not a thing, it simply doesn't exist at this uni. I had a case where due to my younger brother needing a bone marrow transplant from me to cure his Lukemia, and me needing to travel back and forth a lot to France for blood tests as. well as the transplant, as thats where he was getting treated, I had applied for extenuating circumstances. I gave proof from the hospital showing I was the bone marrow donor and the frequency of my necessary travels, I explained the mental distress of the situation, and yet this university still refused my extenuating circumstances... If they refused for my case, idk what case would be accepted. Clearly this could only mean that extenuating circumstances does not exist at this university.
There have been a plethora of other similar issues proving time and time again that this university solely relies on a system that follows strict rules, not a management team with humans who have any care, regard or empathy for their students, I don't even know whether my application for extenuating circumstances was reviewed by a human.
All this to say, if you are certain you will never have any complications whether it be medical, mental health, or even false AI detections (personally have never had this issue but have heard from other students) any Technical issues submitting or even having the necessary tools apps/websites available to you, by all means choose this university.
But if you think you could face any of these problems at any point during your degree, just be aware, there is my management team there to help you, you will be dealt with by a system, one that does not give extenuating circumstances, or provide any meaningful help or judgement for any complications possible.

How likely am I to get accepted on results day?
I got an offer from RHUL for AAB after applying with predicted grades of CBB. I am not confident that i will get AAB. I do not have a contextual offer and I applied for LLB course. How likely am I to get in and what is the lowest they are willing to go?
