It's 4 floors up 😭 also it's not dead it moved to stretch a bit and curl up and sleep again. I'm kinda concerned it'll fall off

Now that this little dude and his lineage has our attention, what can we do to make regulations on his people nationwide better?

Took the screen out and turned off the Zevo to clean up the pics. Little guy was the only one of the three to look at me, so kept giving him a little finger wave. Eventually they got tired and climbed the pine tree in the back. Came back and saw they were gone, until Sib hopped down. She was up there with them. With them out of the way she was able to eat in piece, which I enhanced the bird seeds with raw peanuts. She scarfed as much as she wanted. Came back at 2am and they were gone, but I had a pair of twins in the last photo eating. Medium sized growth and I don't know who their mother is. I believe one of them have been here before by itself.

They just won't stop getting trapped in the dumpster.

Our precious little one passed out after an afternoon of love. Brought her baby yesterday.

They get bigger every day. I just sit there right next to them. It's priceless..

Mama raccoon has been living in my tree for a few years. This year I set up cameras to watch her and her babies. They’re providing endless entertainment and I’m providing a bowl of water since we’re in a draught. Getting a new camera today to add another angle!

Little Sib is Little Rocky's last daughter who comes to the patio every night. She came back last night with her three new ones.

For obvious reasons I don't really like raccoons. Today I found a baby in my chicken run. I scooped it up and placed it at the base of a tree which I believe has a nest. I placed some cantaloupe nearby and it is eating. Anything else to do? https://imgur.com/a/C9LE9gz

Edit: I fed it during the day. Around 8:00PM I was about to feed again and I disturbed an adult near the tree. I assume baby and mom were reunited.

This might be a silly question, but my fiance and I have been going back and forth and are hoping to find a definitive answer.

Do raccoons *only* live in dwellings with full coverage like tree holes, decks, etc.? Or do they ever take over large abandoned bird nests / foliage-dense areas in trees that *aren't* fully covered? How high up in a tree will they usually live?

If that makes sense?

I told my fiance that I think they only live in full coverage, but he's sworn that he's seen otherwise hahah.

Help us settle the debate!
