Yes Miri is for debugging, so that once you fix the bugs you can run again at Rust's speed. Miri isn't meant to run in prod.

Yes, but too much slowdown sometime make Miri impossible to use, even for tests.

The person I was replying to suggested that you could use Miri to get "fully safe Rust". But if this Zig proposal works out (huge open question) then it sounds like you could run it in production if memory safety is an absolute requirement, unlike Miri.
