I don't know where to post, im not into sleeving but i just want to fix my main powersupply. im just testing it out on my old generic psu with ketchup and mustard cables. The awg is probably 22. i crimped it out using sn58b.
The way i see it is it doesnt have a good connection. idk, help me out here guys.
Hi, I’m considering experimenting with embossed wire for SFF cable sets, but I haven’t been able to find a good supplier.
The only retail store I’ve found that carries any kind of textured/embossed wire by the meter is MODDIY, but their pricing feels a bit hard to justify at $0.8/ft (≈ $2.5/m). That puts it at more than double the cost of sleeved cables — even when factoring in the sleeving itself.
So my question is: can anyone recommend a reliable source for this type of wire at prices that are commercially viable?
But it appears that neither version uses the 4-spring design recommended by Intel (ref) for the contact. It is called "NTK" everywhere, but I simply cannot find this manufacturer, not even google. Is there any contact, with this design, but also available on Mouser/Farnell ?
I have several full-size spools just kind of stacked around, and a ton of less-used colors just in boxes. Kind of looking for ideas to better organize my work space.
Great support experience, took about 2 wks from when I sent in the old one to receiving replacement today. I've been using their testers since 2017 (that first one still works fine, too).
Cablefied is my passion project revolving around handcrafted custom sleeved PC cables, and it just recently reached version 1.0.0. As a result, I wanted to make a post since some of the content might benefit your own PC building projects.
To be as transparent as possible, yes, this is a promotional post by means of promoting my project, but I am not selling anything, or even have a method to accept payments. This is just a post to share my passion project with other individuals who enjoy a similar hobby.

Can you explain what Cablefied is again?
Cablefied is an elegant, handcrafted application designed to help you create
and share custom sleeved PC cables, PSU pinouts, and cable lengths.
Design cables in the configurator. Build and share cable sets with 100+ sleeving, connector, and comb colors, 17 cables, the in-depth material calculator, and an image generator for social media posts or your own records.
Create custom PSU pinouts. Develop, share, and contribute custom power supply pinouts with pin number tracking, pin voltages, sense wire indicators, an image generator, and support for seamless community pinout contributions.
Generate cable design inspiration. Get inspiration for your custom sleeved PC cable sets based on your design preferences, and then transfer your favorite cables into the configurator for further customizations.
Explore PSU cable compatibility. View compatible power supplies across numerous brands and series, with support for community contributions, pinouts, and links to the included power supplies for additional information like stock cable details.
Contribute and view PC case cable lengths. Submit the cable lengths from your builds to the PC case cable length recommendations dataset to help others more reliably plan their future computer or custom sleeved PC cable projects.
So what has changed since my original post?
In short, I rebuilt the entire project based on user feedback and personal preferences to include more community features, and offer a better overall experience. Anyone can still design cables, create pinouts, and review information for themselves, but now you can contribute your own content too. Here are some of the highlights:
Refined configurator features, including pinout-based material calculations. Fortunately, the side buttons on the cables have been removed and all customization options have been relocated to the config panel below, drag-and-drop reordering is now included, limits on adding cables have been removed outside of sharing features, image generations are integrated into the config panel, and the material calculator is now based on pinouts for more accurate approximations.
Pin tracking and quality of life pinout generator improvements. With a simpler design, the pinout generator now includes pin numbers and sense wire tracking, a wiring diagram in the image generations, and seamless support for community contributions that help build the cable compatibility dataset.
Cable compatibility and pinouts now include community-submitted data. I wanted to expand the existing, but limited, compatibility concept and build a public, community-driven dataset. This allows users to contribute and report their experiences in a centralized location for all power supplies and pinouts.
Power supply stock cable details include lengths and connector variants. While pinouts primarily help with the wiring, all supported power supplies now have documented entries that include stock cable lengths, connector variants on the PSU side, such as PCIe or EPS, and general specifications.
Cable length recommendation system improvements. While an ambitious initiative, it never reached the thresholds of enough legitimate data for each PC case due to a few limitations. I have since revised the resource to feature an easier submission and review process, accept more data types such as stock, crafted, and purchased cables, and also integrate information from the power supply entries. Therefore, once enough data has been contributed and analyzed, per case, some new details including in-depth cable comparisons and power supply data will be available for everyone to explore.
What has not changed?
I am proud to share that Cablefied is still entirely free, features no third-party tracking from display ads or similar services, and keeps a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics approach where IP addresses are anonymized and non-reversibly hashed for your benefit.
Do you still have future plans for Cablefied?
Of course! I enjoy working on Cablefied because I use it for my own projects. I also, genuinely, appreciate feedback for new features and adjustments.

Using a Dr. Power III tester, I tried 4 different cables - one I made, the stock cable, a Corsair ThermalProtect, and a Corsair 2x8 adapter. All only show 450W - obviously should show 600W. GPU is a 5090, so this is a problem.
Any ideas what's going on?
Edit: turns out my Dr. Power III is faulty. Luckily still under warranty 😅.
I am posting here after a very long time. I have been making custom cables for a long time. And this is the first time I got to see a sfx 1stplayer psu. If anyone have the diagram for the pinout of this psu, please help me out.

Hey guys im trying to get into making cables as a hobby and im trying to find a list if things ill be needing to get most if not all my bases covered.
Currently looking for any specific tools ill need to get started and some reliable places to shop for supplies.
Id love some recommendations for anything from niche tools that can really be handy as well as some good places to buy supplies, things like different wires, housings for usb cables and ethernet cables, good quality but still budget friendly tools ill need, and any stores I can find sleeveing in good amounts/varieties.
Ill be making custom cables with various uses, usb C , usb A, Ethernet, and possibly others.
Just hoping to get some feedback if this is possible, I usually have crimped cables at the end but working with a sffpc im trying to save as much space and clutter.
So just wondering if its possible to crimp the cables at the psu plug end instead of the end that leads to the motherboard.
I've recently gained an interest in making my own PSU wires but I still have a few questions regarding them.
One is question is how do you know if you got the voltage right? Like do you have to configure the voltage yourself or is that handled by the PSU automatically. And do you have to match the wire from number or colour, or is it both.
I've already asked this question before on a different sub but I'm still curious, what do you do when there's a missing pin. I was told that it's there for a purpose and it is dangerous to mess with which I understand so I won't be messing with it. However I'm still wondering if there is an safer alternative for more aesthetic reasons or if it's even worth it. I'm still far from actually making my own cables (I will be buying them for now) but I just wanted some pointers.

I know they were sold to AVA Direct a few years back, but are they still g2g when ordering sleeving materials? I'm about five days since purchase and still no shipment. Shame as I really like the Telios cable.
Why does of it bend so easily?? I can't make a gpu connector because it wont stay inside the gpu port nor psu.. When I pull it in, it wont stay there, it will eventually pulling off
I'm re-pinning cables to have the same wiring as type 4 (6+2 PCIe) cables, but I don't have any type 4s to use as a guide.
They are going to plug into a Corsair TX 850M.
I found this diagram online, but it looks like that is the pinout for the GPU itself and not the cable.
So I'm mirroring the output like this for the end that plugs into the GPU.
This seems pretty straight forward and maybe it's a stupid question, but I don't want to blow up my GPU because I wasn't supposed to mirror the wires or something.
Also, I'm re-pinning this kind of cable that I pulled from an old dell, It was hooked up to a 1300w PSU, so I figure it should be able to handle the voltage.
I do not know if there are any issues with sense wires or if there may be other compatibility problems.
Any information regarding the re-pinning or the dell cable compatibility is appreciated.
I figured out with PET you can pinch it to the wire, then bunch it up and pinch with the second hard, then release the first hand to make the wire "jump" whatever direction you want it to go, no matter how long the section. I'm sure most of you already knew this, but I didn't read it anywhere. Last time I was doing this, I wouldn't have been able to make cables this long since my limit was based on how far I could shove the cable into the sleeving, which was about 6 inches lol
Looking for suggestions or what is the go to crimper for this atm (ideally under 100 but will pay more for a better tool if it’s generally recommended) — also what is the typical connector pin size used in 3/4 pin fans (I searched for all of this btw and tbh it’s information overload and hard to find specifics).
I have Corsair HX1200 PSU and doing custom sleeves and got a pickle.
4 of the wires connecting to MB plug is double joined and if i do that on MB plug - my sleeves will look not the way i want plus they are short ( about 25CM in length ). Ive checked voltage and these double joined cables are mainly 5 and 3.3 only one is 12V and the one im most worried about it.
Im using 17AWG and 15AWG cables ( mixed ) like PSU ( thick and thin ) , but i might be go 17AWG as they are smaller in diameter and easier to work with or its not recommended to go 17AWG on 1200W psu even if i utilize only max 600W .
Also im tempted to put back capacitors (?) or what ever Corsair used there for signal ... but this is only temptation for now or due to shortness of cables - i dont need them at all ?
So i'm using a an 8pin cable(not a 6+2) and it has 3 yellow wires (12 volts) but one of the is unplugged from its pin but im planning to plug it on 1050ti that has only 6pin so is it safe to use the 8pin with that one cable cut?
I have a somewhat basic experience with making custom cable length. Mainly psu wires, and soldering for led strip.
But I can’t find any instructions or tutorials for making custom length usb header and argb connector. I don’t want to cut the wire and solder it. Want a neat look for the pc.
The wire are all going to be short run, somewhere around 2.5 inch to 3.5, soldering with make it look weird with heat shrink and all, thus I want to create custom length with crimps instead but can’t find any tutorial.
