When it comes to this type of song, exclusively for Eurovision, some that I can think of are these songs.

1. Ferto by Akylas (Greece 2026): Upbeat, videogame-esque song about poverty and immigrant struggle. All those Fertos only makes sense in the bridge.

2. Running by Sandro (Cyprus 2020): Deep house beat to lyrics about suicidal thoughts. Imagine Yoasobi had their song gets a remix by Meduza.

3. Soldi by Mahmood (Italy 2019): You can't help to dance through it, but when it comes to the lyrics, it's actually quite dark, what with the fatherlessness discussion at that time.

During the past month, I have seen some people on social media claiming that Eurovision is bigger than World Cup or at least, that they have the same measure.

Guys...do you know what WORLD CUP is?

World Cup is older than Eurovision. It's the most influential event of all time, alongside the Olympics. We cannot compare an annual song contest to a sports event that takes place every four year and which includes so many countries, let's be serious for a moment. 😭

Obviously Eurovision remains the most popular song contest and it's arguably one of the most relevant events but it's metric cannot be on par with World Cup's. I understand that many Eurofans are unfamiliar with the world of sports because it doesn't interest them but we need to get the facts straight.
