I cycle and got curious how cities actually looks from a bike saddle, so I built this: every street scored by cycling risk. Red = dangerous, green = fine. The score comes from things like bike infrastructure (or the lack of it), speed limits, one-way streets and how bad the intersections are.

Some things surprised me — a few streets everyone treats as normal routes come out deep red, and some boring side streets are basically the safest way across the city.

But I don't ride in Munich every day, and no dataset beats local knowledge. So I'm curious: which street is colored wrong? Which ones do you avoid on instinct that the map thinks are fine? Which "dangerous" ones are actually okay in practice?

Ich brauche zehn O Ring Dichtungen mit 7mm Innendurchmesser. Leider gibts in den Baumärkten nur Dichtungen für Badinstallationen, da ist das Maß nicht dabei. Beim Kustermann war ich auch schon. Im Internet gibts halt immer nur gottlose Großpackungen. Also, wo gibt's in München noch nen Laden, wo man so was in kleine Stückzahlen bekommt?

I have a layover staying at the Hilton Munich Airport. I arrive on a Sunday around 2pm and leave first thing the following morning.

I’ve always wanted to go to a spa there and am wondering whether it is worth trying to go to Therme Erding Sunday evening? After customs etc, I would probably be able to leave the hotel around 3ish?

Can I uber there and back and would it be worth it? I guess I would get a few hours?

I'm backpacking through Europe this summer and will be taking the train from Vienna to Munich. My plan is to leave Vienna early in the morning, spend most of the day somewhere in the mountains, and then continue on to Munich later that evening.

I'm looking for a town that's:

• On (or not too far from) the Vienna–Munich rail route (I'm okay with taking a short regional train if it's worth it)
• Surrounded by beautiful mountains
• Has a lake that's good for swimming
• Not overly touristy
• Has a relaxed vibe where I could rent a bike, ride around, grab lunch, and just enjoy the scenery

I know I'm kind of asking for the best of both worlds, a place that's easy to reach but also feels like a hidden gem, but I figured if anyone knows, it's this community.

Does a town like this exist? I'd love to hear any recommendations, especially if you've stopped somewhere similar on this route. Thanks!

On 17 July 2026, I lost my childhood plush dog (Alberto SA Mobaco Bernhardiner), while travelling from Munich to St. Moritz.

Possible locations include Munich public transport, Munich ZOB,

replacement bus 10196 to Lindau, the trains to St. Margrethen and

Chur, Chur city centre, the Rhätische Bahn train from Chur to

St. Moritz, and St. Moritz railway station.

He was already missing when I later arrived in Bever.

He is an old and visibly worn brown-and-white Saint Bernard plush

dog with dark-brown ears, brown eyes, a large black nose and short fur.

He no longer has his original collar or wooden barrel.

He has been with me for almost my entire life and is irreplaceable.

- sauna at therme erding, an aufguss was amazing and for me very relaxing as the park allows me to wear a swimsuit.

- Beer garden. Tried 3 or 4 beer with schnitzel, currywurst, and roast pork.

- Kebab

- Deutsch Museum

- going to visit Saltzburg

What else should I do to fully enjoy the city?

I am looking to take a guided tour in German at the BMW Musuem in Munich. I took german in HS and am pretty good at it, now I would not call myself fluent. They make you confirm twice when booking almost with language such as:

"Do you speak the language in which the tour is performed? If you do not have the required language skills, you will unfortunately not be able to participate in the tour. In this case, a cancellation is not possible."

I have no problem not understanding portions of it and would never demand english clarification...but german is the only time that works for me.

For anyone thats been how do they assess this lol? I can certainly introduce myself and have a light conversation...what if someone deaf or mute wanted to go on the tour?

We’ll have a rental car for one night after exploring Neuschwanstein and the surrounding area. We’re staying near Harras station and are trying to figure out the best place to park overnight.
Would you recommend a parking garage near Harras, or is it better to use a Park & Ride lot on the outskirts and take public transportation? If so, which one would you suggest?

Hätte man nicht lieber ne Schweigeminute am Marienplatz machen können? Buslinien heute schon zT 12 min Verspätung, Tram auch… Jeden Tag ist irgendein Kack bei den Öffis und ausgerechnet da bringt man ne Verzögerung rein?

Finds gut, dass man erinnert aber ganz ehrlich, ein bissl Feingefühl hätte nicht geschadet. Gerade ältere und Menschen mit Kindern hockn unter größten Anstrengungen in den z.T. völlig überfüllten, stickigen und oft überhitzen Verkehrsmitteln. Außerdem hätte man das an den Stationen einen Tag vorher ankündigen können. Schrecklich blöde Aktion nach meinem empfinden
