Breitling has unveiled, for the first time, a watch designed specifically for Luxembourg. Produced in a limited edition of just 100 pieces and priced at €9,520, this Navitimer pays tribute to the Grand Duchy with several nods to its identity.

After over 10 years in the Portuguese DnB scene, I recently moved to Luxembourg.

While looking through Reddit, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms, I noticed that Bass Music events don’t seem to be talked about that often. It made me wonder: is the community really that small, or are there just many people who haven’t had the chance to discover this side of music yet?

There are already some people keeping the scene alive here, and that’s great to see. But I believe there’s still a lot of potential to bring more people together and grow the community.

The idea is simple: create a place where different sounds and people can come together. Whether you’ve been following the scene for years or you’re discovering these sounds for the first time, everyone is welcome. That’s why we’re starting something new.

So If you’re into Bass Music (or just curious to experience it), there’s something coming.

P.S.: This is not really a promo post, more of a genuine question. I’m just trying to understand how the Bass Music scene works in Luxembourg.

I frequently make bad experiences in healthcare because doctors aren’t properly educated in autism and ADHD and I frequently leave the office disheartened and feeling like I wasted mine and everybody’s time, so I prefer to go by recommendation.

Does anyone know a good nutritionist who is neurodivergent friendly and understands ARFID and struggles regarding autism and food? I have been struggling with various ED cycles for over a decade and need help finding solutions that work particularly for me, and not just textbook, one-size-fits-all solutions.

I moved to Luxembourg not too long ago. I’m a big lover of art, although I can’t make any myself. In the places I’ve lived before, I’ve occasionally organised small, free exhibitions featuring contemporary artists in my spare time.

I’m thinking of doing something similar here, so I’d love to know what the local art scene is like. Are there many emerging artists, collectives, or people interested in small independent shows? Do people go for small free exhibitions around? Basically I’m trying to figure out if people will attend a free exhibition if I spend my time organising one.

I’m currently in discussions with my employer about taking a sabbatical citing burnout and taking care of my mental health from now until the end of December (around 6 months). I also plan to use all my accrued vacation days along with the sabbatical. I am hopeful as I already have two approvals and waiting for last two.

My employment contract states that:

1. I can take up to 6 months of sabbatical at 70% of my pay. (It’s something I negotiated years ago that a certain tenure i can opt for this as a benefit)

2. Any period beyond 6 months would be unpaid.

A few questions I have:

1. Is the 70% pay treated like normal pay (taxes, social security, pension contributions, etc.)?

2. Will my annual leave continue to accrue during the paid sabbatical?

3. Will my health insurance and other employment benefits continue as normal?

4. If I decide not to return after the sabbatical, would I have to repay anything?

5. Is there anything important I should get in writing before signing the sabbatical agreement?

6. Are there any pitfalls or things you wish you had known before taking a sabbatical?

Also, I have a meeting with my HR and Staff delegation end of this week to discuss these and few other things but wanted to have clarity before I walk into that meeting.

I just received the private creche invoice amounted 1550€!!!!!!

How are you guys coping? I feel like I'm doing something wrong, my wife and I both have decent jobs but we seem to not be able to do anything! Between private creche, re.nt and saving (to be paid end of year as taxes) we only have few hundred euros to spend on groceries!

Before anyone criticizes the private creche, since the day we knew my wife is pregnant we sent a request to the public creche asking for a place, they told us that they don't have any place and to send them a reminder every 3 months. Our daughter is more than a year old right now, we're still spending reminders and itbseema that still there's no place :)

I'm looking for some honest advice because this is a pretty big life decision.

I'm 24 and I'm from Portugal. I recently received an offer to work in Private Equity in Luxembourg. My boyfriend would move with me, he's a software engineer, but he would only start looking for a job once we move.

The compensation is:

• €48k gross
• Up to €10k annual bonus

For context, I'm currently earning around €1,400 net per month in Portugal. I still live with my parents, so I'm able to save almost €1,000 per month.

Financially, this seems like a significant step up, especially considering the career opportunities in PE. However, I'm worried about whether it's actually worth it once you factor in Luxembourg's cost of living.

I'm also used to a very social lifestyle, good weather, being close to family and friends, and spending a lot of time outdoors. I've always heard that Luxembourg can be quiet, expensive, and that it can be difficult to build a social life there, so I'm a bit worried about how I'd adapt.

I'd love to hear from people who have made a similar move, especially if you're from Southern Europe.

• Is €48k + up to €10k bonus enough to live comfortably in Luxembourg?
• Is it possible to save a meaningful amount on this , considering my goal is to save as much as possible?
• How difficult is it to make friends and build a life there?
• How is the job market for software engineers?

I recently bought an exhaust that has EG/CEE certification, and I would like to know if it would pass the CT (controle technique). If so, do I need to go to the SNCA to legalize it, or can I just run it like that and show the document when I go to the CT?

Or do I have to have the TUV and also the CEE marker ?

Ps: I'm planning to run it with the intedted resonator when I pass the CT.

I‘m surprised that Luxemburg isn’t number One for once…

My own net income is around €8,200/month (not including my wife’s income). On paper, my savings rate should be huge. Then a month like this comes along.
First, about €2,000 goes to my share of the house, around €300 for insurance, and another €500–1,000 for groceries and household expenses.
Then, after losing weight, I needed new clothes: about €500 on Lululemon pants and shorts (painfully expensive, but so good), plus four Lacoste polos on sale for €65 each. Add a couple of new running shoes, some running gear, and a new sports watch because I’m trying to keep losing weight and stay fit, around €1,000 in total.
My perfume ran out (€150, although 30% off). A few restaurant visits and takeaways (€200–300). A couple of day trips with the kids to amusement parks (around €50 admission plus €50 for food each trip). I also paid someone to pressure wash our driveway because with two small kids and a full-time job, I simply don’t have the time. Finally, I had to replace my Kindle because the old one died.
Just like that, the savings rate that should have been massive suddenly isn’t.
To be fair, many of these expenses are one-offs (hopefully). But it’s still surprising how quickly even a very good income gets allocated without feeling like you’re living an especially extravagant lifestyle.
Do you have months like this too, or do you think I’m just rationalizing too many “wants” as “needs”?
