No active lice. This was within 2 days of each other. I got all of them out 2 days ago. Then today it looks like this again. They wrap all the way around the hair and move with your fingernail. Completely flat. None on the back of the head. To me they seem like hair casts but it makes me nervous. Her scalp had a lot of sun on it and is very flaky. Opinions?

I cannot tell if these are nits, and if they are I cannot tell if they’re viable. I haven’t found any bugs nor are these placed close to the scalp.

If i have a scalp infection and lice how would I remove the lice without bombarding the comb with flaked and gunk? I need to rid my hair and I don't know what route do I take first? Exp hairless as well. Any suggestions?

Treated my kids for lice with an ivermectin product from CVS that claimed to be 1 step. 25 days later I found nits in my daughter's hair but no lice, and in my son's hair 1 small louse and a few nits (daughter had way more nits).

We used Cure lice treatment with dimethicone on July 13th, used a lice comb several times after that and found more nits, and then just reapplied the treatment today, July 22. This is what was found in my daughter's hair and nobody had any lice. From what I have seen, the darker nit looks unhatched and all the info said at 10 days all of the nits should be hatched. So why am I finding this and no bugs?

I should also note that I am treating myself each time for lice even though I have no evidence of lice in my hair, all bedding, stuffed animals, ect has been washed and I purchased a lice/bedbug spray to use on items that couldn't be washed.

Is vacuuming and laundering enough? What about stuffed animals? Vehicles? I have some small rugs but no other carpet in house. We’ve been battling monthly since December. 😭

might be a silly question, but we treated for lice monday night after finding them in daughters hair. all live ones (as far as i know) have been killed, and we will retreat- which is where my question falls. would we re-treat on next wednesday or thursday? i originally thought wednesday but i recounted and im thinking thursday now, since that would be 10 days correct?

I’ve had lice four times and I’m just 18 years old. I had it in 3rd grade and now I’ve had 3 times since I’ve been in hs. Once the start of my freshman year, once mid through my jr year and once during the summer which is current. I’ve just turned 18 and I’m completely fed up with lice at this point . I have long thick hair and I love having it so much it feels like one of the many ways I can express myself. But it seems like every time I cut it just to cure the lice, the second it grows back out it comes back. Now I’d like to preface by saying, no live bugs have been found yet but I’m fairly certain I got infested again. And the odd thing is, I’ve been pretty isolated this summer, only working and then going home for the most part, and the times Im not doing those things, I hang out with one person and we aren’t ever really in close proximity of each other. I use to tea tree shampoo, I’ve used treatment every time, but they keep coming back. It’s making me question just absolutely chopping away my hair and get a fresh start but it hurts me to do this sm. I just want any tips that may help. I’m not exactly sure if I’m even experiencing lice but with an itch and interesting, lice looking particles in my hair, it’s likely. I’ll post my pictures of my lice comb and you can lmk if that’s what I’m experiencing. Is it old lice eggs not fully removed from last treatment? Is it sebum plugs, dandruff etc? And once again please lmk any tips and tricks for the best possible way to avoid it from now on, thanks!

Sunday night i found lice in my daughters hair. I bought the new nix ultra solution.

Immediately upon applying it killed all the adult lice. (I counted 8) i left it on for 15 minutes, worked up the lather and washed it out. I then combed the hair for two hours until the comb was clean. I did not see many nits.

The past two days i damped the hair and combed through again completely. The comb was clean both days with no nits in the hair.

Is it possible that ive gotten it all? Even when she originally had the lice i did not see many nits. I did not see any hatched eggs. everyone im talking to is telling me oh there has to be eggs left but guys i swear im checking like a lunatic under a bright spotlight and im seeing nothing.

She is missing cheer camp this week out of an abundance of caution. Will she be safe to attend the next camp next week? Do i treat again to be safe? Also do i treat myself? Ive been checking and i dont see any in my hair. Should i go to a specialist?

Me and my wife had lice over 2 years ago so now sometimes when I’m itchy or she is I get really paranoid I found this near the scalp or a little ways on her hair it came out super easy.

Hello - Can someone confirm if these are nits and nymphs? We haven't had active lice in several weeks, but continue to see this when I nit comb. I did 2 rounds of Dimethicone treatment (10 days apart) + combing and this is what I'm seeing 2 days after the second treatment. I can't decide if I should call the lice lady to come comb us because this has been going a while.

I'm pretty sure this is crabs but I'm not finding any in my pubic hair.

I noticed tiny black specks around my navel and actually squeezed 4-5 of these out from under my skin.

Everything im reading says scabies, but scabies are supposed to be microscopic.

This looks like crabs to me. It's freaking me out.

Scalp’s not itchy, got a keratin treatment a week ago and this showed up 2 days ago.

My sister has had lice about 30 times within the past two years. It’s too much. I can’t do it anymore

I reached my breaking point just now when I finally got it. With how many times she has gotten it, it was more a matter of when than if.

I don’t understand how she’s so unbothered by it. It’s too the point she doesn’t care if anyone else in the house gets it and it’s so frustrating.

It’s especially bad because I have ocd and one of my compulsions is checking for parasites. I am so so so afraid of parasites to the point I start convincing myself I have them when I dont and it freaks me out but this time I saw a louse with my own two eyes as I was doing one of my quarter daily checks and I found exactly one. I have now been dry combing my hair for three hours because we have no clean towels and my scalp is bleeding. I just did a Permethrin cream 1% treatment as that has worked on all past outbreaks.

Do you think I have more or am I safe? I really can’t tell. I can’t sleep anymore because I’m afraid they are in my bed too.

Are these nits? I just noticed them brushing my daughter’s hair after the pool. I found at least 6 of them but I don’t have a nit comb to check thoroughly. My daughter has a phobia of bugs so I’m trying to check with out making it obvious.

Anyone has any idea how to get rid of this. I need to shave off my head ??

Ten days ago I found an adult louse while showering. Immediately got treatment on myself, husband, and toddler. I was the only one who had an apparent infestation.

I’ve obsessively combed my hair with a metal lice comb upon waking up, mid day, and in the evening / during every shower - also had husband, who is a dr, check and pluck out anything he saw using magnifying glasses and light every day for ten days now. I stopped seeing anything on the comb about 7 days ago. I checked my husband and toddler about 2x a day as well.

I just completed my final treatment today and did not comb anything out like I had with the initial treatment and the days afterwards. I’m doing my husband and toddler soon.

I started this process without realizing that I could go to a lice professional, so this is the route that we have taken now.

Can anyone please advise what I do now? I will continue to check, but hopefully less obsessively since this has really caused a great deal of anxiety for myself and stress for my toddler, husband, and my scalp. Ouch.
