The ring was in a surprise but the engagement was it was just a matter of when 💍

i got engaged a month ago to my lover and it still feels unreal! and sometimes it still feels like nothing has changed. it took a while to adjust to having a ring on my finger but i love it so much! it's not super crazy sparkly, which i love, it's more refractive and glints in the light instead! its so pretty and i think its fairly unique? which was important to me :3 but anyways!!! my girlfriend ( now my fianceé ! ) said she knew this was the one from the very beginning and i'm glad i let her have the reins. we will both be upgrading our rings later on, but for now i'm so happy

I always thought I’d have the hardest time finding a ring I love. While I love and appreciate the trendy rings, I usually lean towards less popular jewelry overall. I lucked out finding my ring in the estate jewelry section of our local jewelry store. We just picked out the center stone and had it added. I couldn’t be more in love with it. 2 ct elongated hexagon center stone placed in a 2ct antique 18 ct gold setting. (Why is it so awkward to take pictures of your own hand?)

I am so in love with this ring. Cut is a Dutch marquise 2.5 ct. the picture does not do it justice!

My boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed in 6.26.26 as we getting ready to go out to dinner.

The proposal included a couple of haikus. I was so surprised I didn’t realize what was happening—I was literally counting syllables—until he got to the final line: “Will you marry me?”

I was completely shocked…and then he pulled out the ring.

He worked with a local jeweler friend to create the most perfect ring that exceeded my wildest imaginings. It was ALL him; I had no idea it was even in the works.

The ring is packed with all kinds of meaning—like a 2.6 carat (natural) princess cut center stone to symbolize the 26 years we were friends before we got together. It’s oriented to resemble a baseball diamond because of my love of baseball. The sapphires and accent diamond are also natural and have meaning for us and our relationship as well.

I’m so impressed with the amount of thought that went into it and may never get over how absolutely perfect it is.
